Chapter 7 Since Paul wasn’t on official business, he didn’t bother going to the Anchorage State Patrol office or the Anchorage Police Department. Instead, he called old friends to gossip, to get coffee, to meet at a well-known cop bar for drinks at shift change around 3 p.m. In Talkeetna, he was isolated from the cutthroat politics of law enforcement found in the big city.
