When Captain Thomas Wyckoff arrived, he didn’t come alone. He came with the Anchorage Chief of Police Bill Newsome, Captain James McGuire, and Assistant Director of the State Patrol Craig Monmouth. Commander George Anderson was ordered to stand down.
Jason Tremont as the security chief for the hotel went out to greet the men — all of whom had seen fit to wear their uniforms — who arrived to take control of the situation. He escorted them all to a large conference room. He left no doubt, however, who was in control of the meeting, Paul thought, amused. He kept a grip on his prisoner. Bellamy kept twitching to shrug him off. Mary Ayek stood quietly next to Tremont, which Paul also thought was interesting. He was hiding out in the corner hoping not to be noticed.
