The throne we keep for the monarchs was for the sake of the people, not the king or queen. They like to give to them, to thank them for all the hard work they do, all the risks they take to keep their people safe. It was the same as making a wonderful meal for a person you love. So, they were comfortable chairs, Katerina guessed, but she had to carve them to show her appreciation.
After meeting with Demetrius, Katerina along with Theodore entered the meeting room. When she glanced at the table, her heart stopped in her chest at the somber looks on their faces. The one who would support Katerina was present in the room, including the Vampire Council. It was a different aura that settled on the council, each holding back their opinions though it was visible clearly on their faces.
