Missing...

The cold air bites at my exposed skin, making goosebumps rise on my pale arms. I shiver, and let out a breath of air. It hangs frozen in time for a second before is disappears, my eyes scan the surrounding area quickly before I shrug my coat on. It instantly warms my frozen body and I smile despite, all the bad going on right now. A man walks in front of me and I shrink back into my coat, making sure the briefcase is hidden under the long, brown fabric of the coat. I jump when a hand clamps down on my shoulder, my red hair whipping around me so I can't see who the attacker is. I spin around and grab their arm, pinning it behind their back harshly. The man lets out a squeak of surprise, before trying to wiggle out of my firm grip. Soon he gives up and when he is as still as the snow at my feet I let go of his arm. He turns around and sends me a small glare. "No hello or anything remotely polite, well hi Rosie!" He smirks sarcastically at me and I glance curiously at him. I study him, as he gazes calmly back at me and then eveyrthing falls into place and I wrap my arms around his muscular frame. "Sorry, I didn't realise it was you Olly. Don't give me that look, las time I saw you you were half my size and had red hair." I exclaim chuckling, when he pushes me playfully. "You are so annoying, you're so lucky you're my annoying B.U.G!" He smiles cheekily at me and I punch his arm softly. "Why did you have to call me bug?" I question giddily, as we walk side by side down the path. "Best, Ugly, Girl! Bug," I glare at him and he places a small kiss on my head. "But you love me and I'm yours, bestie." "Yeah, yeah love you too." I grin at my best friend and he links arms with me, like a child. "How is the mission going though?" Olly asks rasing an eyebrow in my direction, and I sigh exasperatedly. "It is going. So how has your life been going Oliver James," I retort and he shakes his head at me, as I pout. "Fine, please be safe Rose. I'll miss you my bug," he calls and I nod, as he turns and starts to jog. He turns around for a second, winks at me and then jumps, disappearing into thin air. My heart skips a beat when he sends me the wink and I glance at the spot that my friend was seconds ago. The only evidence he was here is the footprints he left behind. I rush forward, down the slipperly snow and jump. My feet land on soft sand, I glance behind me and see bright blue water. I keep my head down as I continue walking as if I didn't just travel through space and time. No, that wasn't me. A soft, quiet breath escapes me when I see the large bank in the centre of Michigan City. My feet start moving when a group of tourists pass me, I stop and a large burly man bumps into me not even stopping to apolgise as he disappears into the crowd. It takes me all of two seconds to notice the briefcase is not in my grasp. My feet hit the pavements as I chase after the man, he rounds a corner and I turn a corner cutting him off. "You won't take me on girly!" He chuckles heartily, and I kick him in the groin. "That is where you are wrong, I can and will take you on any day of the week. Did you break a nail darling?" I reply snarkily, hitting him on the bed with the briefcase and turning and striding out of the allyway. His voice stops me in my tracks and I turn around slowly. "Be careful girl, he might just be pushed into all of this." He smirks cruelly as I rush away from him. As I ride the elevator up to the top level, my heart pounding and my body buzzing with adrenaline, I try to calm my nerves. "Hello Rose, come." A lanky, tan man beckons me in and I follow slowly. He leaves me in the dark, still and cold room with my boss. My pulse skyrockets as he stands, his movements slow but predatory. He lays his hand out on the table and I place the briefcase on the table, before sliding it across to him. He slowly opens the case and I hold my breath. I jump back and knock over a chair when he suddenly stands up and chucks the case back at me. I watch silently as he calls someone up, my head spinning and my body exhausted. Fat tears roll down my cheeks as Oliver and Danny enter the room, my body shakes with sobs as they force Danny onto his knees. "YOU TWO ARE UNRELIABLE!" He roars angrily. "I told you there would be consquences Rose, and here it is!" I strangled gasp leaves me as they place a gun against my son's head. Danny just closes his eyes, after blowing me a small kiss. Not my son, please. I cry out in my head, as the gun goes off. I fall to the floor and cry, I can hear gun shots and yells and shouts but I block it all out. "Rosie we have to go, he needs emergency help now!" Olly's panicked voice breaks me out of my foggy state and I glance up at him. He is holding my son, with blood and the beginnings of bruises littering his body. I don't even want to know what happened to my boss and his goon. I frantically press the button on the elevator and when the doors open I quickly usher Olly in with me. Just as the doors open, and I glance at my friend a gun shot sounds and silence follows. My eyes widen as I see blood pooling out of my best friend, as he grabs a gun out of his belt and fires repeatedly. The life drains out of him and I scream as the only person to ever know and love me fades away. I lean against his chest as paramedics rush towards me. "I Love you my bug," he whispers softly, placing a kiss on my lips and I kiss his forehead as he leaves me.
