Claire’s POV
Claire was looking outside of the car.
She can now see familiar places.
My hometown. I will get to see my family again. I miss them so much.
Vladimir and Claire are not talking since their last serious talk an hour ago.
They are not even looking at each other.
Claire even pretended that she fell asleep just to ignore Vladimir.
She just opened her eyes a minute ago.
I’m hungry. I want to go home and eat my mama’s food. My favorite, Menudo!
While thinking about her stomach suddenly grumbled loudly.
She was stunned but acted as if nothing had happened.
Vladimir suddenly passed her something.
She looked at it. It’s a bar of chocolate.
My favorite chocolate, Cadbury, with nuts!
She gulped and did not accept the chocolate.
Vladimir was about to put back the chocolate when she suddenly stopped him.
She faked a laugh. “I think you will not eat it, so it's a waste not to eat it.”
Vladimir looked at her and still put back the chocolate in his pocket.
She looked outside the window again. “Cold-hearted!” she whispered.
“What did you say?” Vladimir asked.
“Nothing,” Claire said without looking at him.
Claire heard a plastic being opened.
So, she looked for it.
It was Vladimir; he was now opening the chocolate.
She looked at the chocolate, then Vladimir.
Vladimir is just busy opening it.
He was done opening the chocolate. Then he slowly started eating it.
Really?
“I will not marry you!” Claire voiced out.
Vladimir started laughing.
Vladimir looked at her, still laughing.
He still ate the chocolates while looking at her.
“I hope you will get choked!” Claire said while glaring at him.
Vladimir is still also looking at her while eating the last piece of the chocolate.
Claire decided not to look at him and just look outside the window again!
Bastard!
She was still furious when she heard someone coughing.
She looked at Vladimir and saw him choking.
“OhMG!” She helped Vladimir.
“Stop the car!” She screamed.
The car stopped on the road.
She got out of the car and ran towards Vladimir’s door.
She then opened it.
“Sir! Could you help me out?”
The driver hurriedly ran and helped her.
“Please raise him up!” Claire told the driver.
“Do you know how to… Never mind, I’ll do it.”
She took Vladimir and did the first aid.
She positioned him in front of her.
She delivered five back blows, and then she did abdominal thrusts.
On her fourth thrust, she heard a chuckle.
It was Vladimir.
He was laughing.
“Did you just fake that you were choking?”
He stopped himself from laughing, but another chuckle came out of his mouth.
Claire looked at him and walked away, but Vladimir stopped her.
She struggled, but Vladimir was so strong.
“Let go of me.” She calmly said, still not looking at him.
“Look at me. Then I will let go of you.”
Claire looked at Vladimir. The moment he looked at her, he pulled her towards him and gently pushed her into the car.
Vladimir put his left hand on the side of the car while his right hand was still on her hand.
They are now looking at each other.
“Do you really not want to marry me?” Vladimir asked.
Claire was about to answer him when she saw how sincere he was right now.
She was lost in thought.
She blinked once. Then blinked again.
“Will you still marry me, Claire?” Vladimir asked again.
Claire gave in with her feelings.
“Yes,”
“Do you want to tell your family that you’ll get married?”
She took a deep breath and answered.
“Yes,”
“Will you let me talk to them to ask for their permission to marry you?”
She gulped.
“Yes,”
She felt that Vladimir’s grip loosened.
“Okay. That’s settled then. Let’s eat first before meeting them.” Vladimir said.
“Okay.”
Vladimir slowly let go of her hand. He then looked at the driver.
“Let’s go, Jose.”
Vladimir opened the car’s door for her.
“Get in.” He commanded.
She followed him.
She got inside the car and went towards her previous seat, then Vladimir also got inside.
Vladimir closed the door.
“Where do you want to eat?” Vladimir asked and took his phone out from his pocket.
He scrolled through his phone.
“We can eat at---”
“We can eat anywhere,” Claire said and looked outside of the window.
“Or we can just eat at our house if you want,” Claire said. “I think my mom cooked my favorite food. She tends to do that whenever my sisters come home after a long time.” She looked at him.
Claire saw that he was searching for a restaurant near them.
He stopped scrolling through his phone and looked at her.
“It’s okay with me if that’s what you want.”
He then put his phone inside his pocket again and took out something.
“Here,” Vladimir gave her the chocolate.
She looked at the chocolate and smiled at it.
Yummy!
She was so happy after seeing the chocolate.
She looked at him while smiling and took the chocolate from him.
“Thank you,” she said joyfully.
She was about to peel the chocolate when Vladimir took it from her.
Her smile vanished immediately, and she looked at him.
“Are we going to fight again? I’m telling you I won’t save you anymo---”
Claire stopped in mid-sentence when Vladimir opened the chocolate and put the chocolate near in her mouth.
“I won’t take it again. I was just helping you open it. You can smile again, you know.”
Instead of smiling towards Vladimir, she took the chocolate and started eating it aggressively while looking at him.
“Eat slowly. No one’s going to take it away from you.
