Chapter 20 Lilly’s Coming My eyelids started to droop, but I forced them open. We had, stupidly, decided not to stop at a hotel. What possessed us to drive the twenty-four hours it took to get to California straight, I’ll never know. Trent had swapped places with me a few hours ago, so I had the privilege to drive while he was in the backseat. Let me tell you now, it's not a good idea. He had found some grapes in the cooler and had started eating them. Not long after he had started to eat them, however, he decided they didn't taste good. So, he thought it would be a good idea to chuck them at the back of my head. Purple ball after purple ball landed on my head as I attempted to drive down the road for who knows how long. Luckily, after what felt like an eternity they had stopped
