Aiden was a bit surprised by Charlotte's sudden action. He looked inside the house, but Charlotte closed the door, blocking his view.
Charlotte pushed him to the stairway, away from the door. She stopped only after making sure Ethan couldn't hear them from inside the house.
"I'm sorry," Charlotte said apologetically.
Aiden glanced at the tightly closed door behind her and asked, "Is everything alright?"
"Yes," Charlotte replied, looking at him. "By the way, why did you come here?"
Aiden looked at her. "Ava said you weren't feeling well at noon and went to the hospital. She was too busy to contact you, and when she tried reaching out later, she got no response. So she was worried sick and asked me to come check on you."
"My bad. I ran into a friend and didn't have time to reply to her
