Rewritten Hearts

One week only

Valerie stood with her suitcase, calm and cold like a CEO.

"I will only stay for one week," she said quietly. "Only for my daughter."

She said politely

"Valerie 9 big rooms, no one shares. Mansion is huge."

Moonlight's room was a princess castle. HUGE. Pink walls, giant bed, glowing stars, toys and a slide!

"I LOVE IT, DADDY!" Moonlight hugged Kyle.

Valerie 's room was the biggest guest room. "Thank you, Ian," Valerie said politely. Never rude, just cold to Kyle only.

Morning came. Moonlight was always with Ian — dimples, ONLY one who knew how to cook.

Valerie helped Ian in the kitchen. Ian made bad jokes and Valerie LAUGHED, a real laugh.

The other members loved her. "Valerie, you are like our real sister!"

Kyle sat alone, watching Valerie laugh with Ian, burning with jealousy.

He walked in, "Valerie, let me help."

"We are fine. Thank you," Valerie said without looking.

Moonlight on the counter asked, "Mommy, why do you hate Daddy?"

Silence.

Valerie knelt down. "Mommy doesn't hate Daddy, baby.

That night Moonlight made them sit on the same sofa holding both hands. Valerie far left, Kyle far right, Moonlight happy in the middle.

Day 4.

One afternoon Ian got flour on Valerie's cheek and wiped it gently. "Oops, Valerie."

Valerie laughed.

Kyle passing by squeezed his glass so hard it cracked.

At family dinner, all 9 sat together. Moonlight sat between Ian and Valerie.

"Mommy, Daddy Ian pasta is best!"

Valerie smiled at Ian, "Yes, Ian is the best cook."

Kyle stood up, and left.

At night after Moonlight slept, Valerie closed Moonlight's door,as she was about to leave Kyle held her back, Valerie let's live together as a family with my daughter

"You lost the right to be called her father for 6 years," she whispered to Kyle.

"Then let me earn it back," Kyle said.

One Week Is Over*

Day 7. Valerie packed.

"Mommy, do we have to leave?" Moonlight cried.

"Yes, baby. One week only."

Moonlight ran to living room crying, "I don't want to leave! I want to stay with Daddy and everyone!"

Ian said softly, "Val... we love her. And we love you like a sister now."one member said .

Valerie saw her daughter crying non-stop. She put her suitcase down.

"Okay. We will stay a little longer."

Moonlight screamed happily.

Kyle whispered, "Thank you."

"I'm staying for my daughter. Not for you," Valerie said coldly, but heart beating fast.

Day 10. Mansion now a real home. Valerie's slippers at the door, Moonlight's toys everywhere. No cameras outside, no press — Luna is rich and her private life is private. Her security makes sure no one disturbs them.

Ian had an idea. "Let's take a family photo! Valerie and Moonlight is part of SEVEN7 now!"

Big camera in huge living room. All 7 boys, Valerie in simple white dress, Moonlight in princess dress Kyle bought.

"Say kimchi!" Moonlight shouted.

_Click!_ First family photo. Valerie smiled softly. Kyle stood next to her, shoulders touching. Valerie didn't move away.

They printed it and put it on the wall. Moonlight wrote under it with crayon: "MY FAMILY."

Valerie looked at it and her eyes got teary.

Day 11. Valerie was working late in her big room. She worked from home because she is CEO and can work anywhere. No company loss — her company runs perfectly because she is powerful.

She was tired, rubbing her eyes.

Soft knock. Kyle. Two cups of warm milk. He didn't come inside. He left one cup at her door, like always.

"You should sleep," he said quietly from outside.

Valerie opened the door a little.

"Thank you," she said. It was the first time she said thank you to him.

Kyle smiled. "Good night, Val."

"Good night, Kyle," Valerie whispered.

Day 12.

Moonlight got high fever. 39.5 degrees. Shivering.

Valerie panicked, crying holding Moonlight.

Kyle ran in without shirt, just woke up. He picked up Moonlight gently. "Private doctor is already coming, I called."

Private doctor came in 5 minutes because Valerie is rich.

Doctor said, "Just viral fever. She will be okay."

Moonlight sleeping on her princess bed, small and pale. Valerie one side, Kyle other side, both holding her small hands.

For 6 years Valerie held Moonlight alone in hospitals. Tonight, she wasn't alone.

At 3 AM, Moonlight woke up, saw both sleeping holding her hands.

"Mommy... Daddy... don't fight anymore, okay?"

Valerie and Kyle looked at each other. No hate anymore.

Day 14.

Valerie was different. Not cold to Kyle anymore.

In the garden, Valerie teaching Moonlight bicycle. Moonlight fell. Valerie screamed.

Kyle was faster. He caught Moonlight before ground. He held Moonlight in one arm and Valerie who also almost fell, in the other.

For 3 seconds, Kyle was holding both his girls. Moonlight giggling, Valerie so close.

Valerie stepped back.

"You still smell like strawberry, like when we were 16," Kyle smiled.

Valerie left.

Day 15. Night. Only Valerie and Kyle left in mansion, 6 members out for schedule. Rain outside.

Valerie in living room working on laptop. Kyle on other sofa looking at her.

"You should sleep," Kyle said.

"You should mind your own business,"Valerie said coldy.

Kyle sat next to her with space. "Valerie.. do you still hate me?"

Valerie closed laptop.

"I tried to hate you," Valerie whispered tears coming. "For 6 years I told Moonlight her daddy went to the stars because it was easier than saying her daddy didn't want her."

"He slowly wiped her tear with his thumb. Valerie didn't pull away. She closed eyes.

They were so close. One inch.

Moonlight's sleepy voice from stairs: "Mommy? Daddy? Why are you sitting so close?

Valerie jumped away

Valerie ran to her room heart beating crazy. Kyle fell back on sofa smiling like i***t for first time in 6 years.
