Mary blinked at the luxurious ride Mia had arrived in. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. “H-How?” She stuttered in her position and pointed at Mia. “What is she doing here? She wouldn't leave my son alone. That woman is nothing but a gold digger.”
With Vanessa's hands clenched, she took a shot forward, but Mary pulled her back, “You have to behave yourself, Vanessa. This is a public gathering, we cannot afford to screw things up for Brian and the Thompson's tonight. Anything you do will be on the news, and I'm sure you don't want to be the bad guy.”
“The nerves,” Vanessa groaned. “How dare she do this to me? This is supposed to be my shine and she got all the attention. It's not even her party. What am I supposed to do now? What if Brian sees her here?”
