“Hey, have you heard about the new boys that enrolled here this morning?”
“Nope, but I heard there were 3 of them and they're all extremely good looking!”
“They're so mysterious, it’s hot! It makes me melt just thinking about them!”
“Gosh, I cannot wait to see them. I gotta text the other girls to get them informed asap!”
Ah, the gossip about the newcomers never gets old. Girls fantasize about the males, wondering if they’re attractive, muscular, sporty, smart yet has the appearance of a Hollywood movie bad boy. Boys fantasize about the females, wondering if they're attractive, slim yet curvy in the right places, smart and cute. The list of gender stereotypes. I was the new girl once, but that was a few years back. I wasn't like half of the girls that attended Blackwood High. I was sarcastic, lazy, enjoyed the occasional football game that hosted nearly every 3 weeks on the school field. I preferred staying at home every night, stuffing my face with unhealthy treats rather than go out shopping and go to a party every single night getting drunk out of my mind and making out with a douche bag that probably doesn't even know my name. But to be fair, I wouldn't be a complete loner if it wasn't for my best friend Cindy. Cindy was the complete opposite of myself yet managed to pick up a few things from me. She was utterly gorgeous with her long back hair and soft green eyes, she had a slim yet curvy figure and she was a complete party animal. She was popular among the students and teachers, extremely easy to get along with. Cindy was so happy and energetic, it was rare to see her upset and down.
“Good morning grumps!” Ah, speak of the devil. I lifted my head off of the desk to be greeted with a smile from Cindy as she sat down in the seat next to me, smoothing out her blue plaid dress before looking over at me. “Why do you look so grumpy? What happened? Who do I have to talk to?”
“No one” I chuckled, shaking my head. “I argued last night with my mom after she put Sumi to sleep…I was telling her a story and I may or may not had scared her half to death”
“If it was one of your ‘fantasy’ stories, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if you did scare her half to death. Remember at my 11th birthday, we had a sleepover and you decided to let loose on one of your stories and I cried for a whole week?” Cindy quizzed, a grin forming on my face as I remembered the night perfectly in my head. “Oh this is no grinning matter Y/N, you scarred me. I had to lie to my mom and say I was ill so I could sleep in the same room as her”
“You know what happens to liars?” I joke, poking her side playfully.
“Yah!” She screeched, swatting my hand away. I let out a laugh and let my hand fall to my side, watching a pout appear on her lips as she rubbed hers. Students pilled into the classroom one by one, filling up the empty seats before the teacher strolled in, a worn-out briefcase in his hand and a mug of coffee in the other. Classic teacher stereotype. I smiled and picked up my pen from the desk, nibbling at the tip as I watched the teacher turn to the chalkboard, picking up a piece of chalk before writing an equation on the board, displaying it towards us. I'm not saying math is my most hated subject but that's exactly what I'm saying. I despised the numbers and the equations I had to write down every day, trying to figure out the answers for what seemed like hours. It honestly made me want to whack my head against the desk and blackout until it’s all over.
“Hey Y/N?” A voice called my name from my right and I turned my head to be greeted with the face belonging to Chaneyol, one of the popular boys that attended Blackwood High yet befriended me. I hummed and nodded my head, meaning for him to continue. “The boys and I are hosting another party at my house tonight, Sehun wanted me to ask you are you coming along?”
“Yes, she'll go” Cindy answered straight away, not giving me a chance to open my mouth and speak for myself. Chanyeol grinned and gave us 2 thumbs up before focusing his attention back on his work as I turned my attention to Cindy who was smiling at me. “What?”
“I could've answered for myself you know”
“Oh I know” Cindy nodded her head, the smile remaining on her lips. “But you would've said no”
Sehun [18:35]: Glad to know you're coming, the party starts at 7. Want me to come to get you and bring you back here? I've got my brothers car for tonight x
“Oh, Sehun likes you little miss Y/N” Cindy teased as she peered over my shoulder to read the message. “I 100% think he'll make the first move tonight and ask you to be his girlfriend” Oh Sehun. The guy that noticed me sitting on the bleachers cheering for the football players. The guy that first befriended me along with Chanyeol and a few others. The guy that witnessed me laying on Cindy's sofa wearing a baggy t-shirt and sweatpants, watching a movie and decided to join me. The guy I have been crushing on since forever…but he's totally out of my league. He's popular with both genders, mostly girls as they throw themselves at him left, right and center. I scoffed at Cindy's comment, adding a mumbled ‘yeah right’ before texting him back.
Me [18:36]: Thanks for the offer but I'm over Cindys, she's going to drive us there. I'll see you soon though :) x

I shoved my phone into my ripped skinny jean pocket and stood in front of Cindy’s full-length mirror, smoothing down my plain white cropped t-shirt. Okay, I looked okay. “Hey, Cind?”
“Yes?” She replied, slipping on her heels as she glanced over at me.
“When we get back from the party, wanna crash at my house and order pizza or something? Watch an old movie with ice-cream and complain about why we weren't born in the cool days?” I questioned, raising my brow at her.
“Please” Cindy begged as she straightened herself out. “I love a good old movie with mint chocolate chip ice-cream by my side” She hummed in delight. “Hey, I wonder if those new guys will come tonight. I have yet to see them and I want to know if Irene is right when she said that they're good looking! We didn't even see them in school this morning, how lame”
“Probably were trying to figure there way around” I shrugged my shoulders. “And Irene says that everyone is good looking. Remember she said that Joe was good looking?”
“Ah…Sloppy Joe” Cindy grimaced. “I hate being mean but I do understand why they call him after the food. I kinda just want to pat his head and tell him everything is going to be okay, they're all jerks who think it's okay to pick on people to make themselves feel better. I sometimes want to punch them in the face but it won't do me any good”
“Didn't you punch Mina in the face because she bullied me not so long ago?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot about that” Cindy giggled, grinning madly. “Honestly the best moment of my life. Everyone patted me on the back and thanked me for the whole day. I felt like I won an award” I laughed and shook my head at her words, a smile playing on my lips. Cindy let out another giggle before turning to her clock which was hanging on the wall above her makeup desk. “We better get going, it's 6:45 pm and it takes 15 minutes to get to his goddamn house”
“Curse his parents for moving into a house so far away!” I joked, tutting. Cindy slipped on her coat and smoothed out her burgundy skirt, double-checking to see if her black shirt was tucked in neatly before zipping up her coat. As I shoved on my coat, I watched as she picked up a bag pack, stuffing a baggy t-shirt and shorts inside to wear later. “You know you can borrow my clothes and besides, I'm sure you've left a few behinds from the last time you stayed over”
“Ah, but just in case. I'll collect the others and bring them home” She told me, zipping up the bag. “Do you think I should ask Minho to take us instead of me driving? To be completely honest, I might have a few drinks and I have a feeling I won't be in a very good shape to drive us back”
“It's completely up to you” I shrugged my shoulders. “I don't mind driving”
“As much as I love my little bun” Cindy paused, squeezing and pinching my cheeks like she would with a child. “I do not trust you with my car. You're not the best driver in the world”
“Rude” I pouted.
“Nope. Just being honest” Cindy smiled, removing her hands and flinging her bag over her shoulder, making her way out of her room with me following closely behind down the stairs. “Oh Minho, my lovely big brother, where art thou be?”
“What do you want?” Minho questioned, his voice coming from the living room.
“Would you be able to take me and Y/N to Sehun’s house party, please? I would drive but to be honest, I’m probably going to have a few drinks” Cindy smiled pleadingly as she threw an arm around her brother's shoulders. “Please, I'll drive you down to that place you like in the middle of the city, you know, the one that grandma used to take us to when we had no school”
“You owe me so much” Minho mumbled as he stood up from the sofa, ignoring Cindy's cheering. He picked up his jacket from the hanger and looked over at me as he zipped it up. “You too Y/N, don't think I'm letting you off the hook”
“I'll just give you money”
The party wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Sure, the music that played was good, the drinks were flowing and tasted pretty nice, lots of games were being hosted in various rooms but it was always the same. Nothing new, nothing different. Cindy was already tipsy, dancing along to the music with her popular friends. Thank god she was a great dancer. I was sat on the sofa in the abnormally large living room with Baekhyun and Jongin, a red solo cup in hand filled with whatever beverage Chanyeol had given me before disappearing off to the bathroom, desperate to empty his bladder. I took a sip from the drink and instantly cringed as the alcohol burned my throat. Jesus Christ Chan, what did you give me?!
“Not a big alcohol drinker I suppose?” A familiar voice spoke. I lifted my head to be greeted with Sehun, a smirk displayed on his lips as he stood in front of me, holding his cup filled with drink. He looked good. White buttoned-up shirt with ripped denim skinny jeans and a black snapback rested on top of his head backward.
I shook my head and smiled. “Not really”
“Come on, I'm pretty sure we got some soda left in the kitchen” Sehun smiled back, offering me his free hand. To be polite, I took a hold of his hand and he pulled me up, intertwining his slender fingers with mine before leading me through the crowd of sweaty people, pulling a face as I bumped into a couple who were practically having s*x in the middle of the room. Sehun glanced back to laugh at my reaction before tugging me further, finally reaching the kitchen. There were only a few people in here, drinking and eating pizza that Kyungsoo had ordered before everyone arrived. “Sorry about that, people tend to get a little bit crazy and the party we host”
“Yeah, I can see that” I chuckled. “Doesn't it bother you at all?”
“Nah, I just let them live loose” Sehun shook his head, letting go of my hand to roam through the fridge, smiling as he held a can of coca-cola in his hands before he handed it over to me. “There you go”
“Thanks, I have no idea what Chanyeol gave me” I shook the cup before placing it down on the counter. Sehun picked up the cup and lifted it to his lips, gulping before he slammed the cup back down, a sour look on his face which made me erupt into a fit of laughter
“Ugh, he gave you straight up vodka” Sehun licked and smacked his lips a few times, eyes scrunching up. I placed my hand over my mouth to conceal my laughter but I couldn’t get the image of Sehun’s face out of my mind. Sehun chuckled and nudged my shoulder playfully. “Stop laughing at me”
“I'm so sorry it's just, oh man” I laughed out. “Your face”
“Attractive right?” Sehun teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Only in your dreams Sehun”, I teased back, taking a sip of my soda. It became quiet among us. Not an awkward silence, but comfortable. I noticed the smile playing on Sehun’s features and I tilted my head to the side, a smile forming on mine. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I'm just really happy you came tonight” Sehun shrugged his shoulders, chuckling lightly as he sipped his drink. “I was 1005 sure you weren't going to come. You didn't come to the last 2 so I thought I must've done something wrong but you're her-” Sehun froze, his face turning hard and eyes narrowing as he seemed to concentrate on something. s**t, did I have something on my face? How embarrassing… I lifted my hand to my face to wipe whatever was there but watched as Sehun tilted his head towards the kitchen door, his nostrils flaring and chest rising. Was there something wrong with him? Was he feeling okay? A fever maybe?
“Hey Sehun…are you okay? What's wrong?” I questioned, placing my hand on his shoulder to snap him out of whatever trance he was in.
“There are some guests that have just arrived who are unwelcome” Sehun growled, fists clutching. Just as I was about to speak, Chanyeol opened the kitchen door and stared at Sehun, giving him a look only he would understand as Sehun nodded before turning to me. “Go have fun, I’ll meet up with you later. Stay safe”
“Uh…you too” I mumbled as Sehun left with Chanyeol, leaving me alone in the kitchen with random students from the school. Well, that wasn’t awkward at all… I gave a small yet polite smile at the couple standing behind me before exiting the kitchen, making my way towards Cindy who was gently swaying back and forth to the music, Irene dancing by her side. “Hey, Cind?”
“Hey!” Cindy slurred, throwing an arm around my shoulder. “Dude, I saw you and Sehun a few seconds ago! He grabbed your hand and took you into the kitchen! Please tell me he asked you out and you kissed”
“God, you're wasted” I chuckled, holding her up straight as she wobbled.
“You didn't answer my question” Cindy whined, pouting. “Irene Irene Irene Irene do you think Sehun and Y/N hooked up in the kitchen? Please side with me, I need to be right”
“No way” Irene giggled, flicking her ginger hair over her shoulder. “You two couldn't have hooked up. So my answer is a no”
“Are you being mean to my friend?” Cindy questioned, giving her a look as she slurred her words and pointed her finger. “Are you saying she isn't good enough to kiss Sehun- DO YOU WANT TO FIGHT ME?”
“I'm just saying hookups do not last 5 minutes…and that's how long they were in the kitchen for” Irene shrugged her shoulders and giggled again before patting Cindy's head. “My little Cindy is so drunk. You have to sober up, they're here!”
“They're?” I questioned, raising a brow.
“The new students are here, they came in a few minutes ago,” Cindy told me, pushing my hair from my ear and leaned forward, covering her mouth as she tried, yet failed, to whisper. “They so attractive, I saw them in person! If I didn’t like Baekhyun so much, I would want to sit on their d***s”
“Cindy!” I scolded her, whacking her shoulder. Cindy erupted into a fit of giggles as she clung onto me, making it harder for me to hold her up. Yup, it's time for her to go home. Cindy bid goodbye to Irene, kissing her cheek multiple times before letting me drag her away down the corridor, apologizing as we stumbled into a few people. God, for a small girl, she weighs a lot…maybe I'm just weak? We made it outside, slipping past a few students who were smoking. “Cindy, I love you and all, but please f*****g help me here!”
“I can't” Cindy whined. “I feel dizzy Y/N” I sighed and sat her down on the grass, pushing her hair out of her face. Ah, she was burning up. Too much alcohol. I tutted and fanned her down with one hand as my other reached for the phone, booking us a taxi quickly. “How long?”
“5 minutes tops,” I told her, squeezing her shoulder reassuringly. “You'll be fine, I promise”
“Thank you Y/N, I love you” I chuckled at her words and squeezed her shoulder again. Shouting from the distance caught my attention, I turned my head to the side to see Sehun and his ‘group’ surrounding the new students, raising their voices every so often. Wow…I now understand what all the fuss is about… The one had silver hair and plumped lips. Something else was plumped too but I ain't going that far. The other one had blonde hair, he was tall and he wore a smirk on his face, his tongue poking out and licking the corners of his lips. The last one had brown hair and an extremely sharp jawline. His facial features were hard as he stared at Sehun, arms crossed tightly over his chest that you could see his biceps from under the t-shirt he was wearing. Wow. A smirk would appear then disappear every time Sehun would say something, making Sehun get angry and shout even more. The first day here and the 3 boys already got in trouble with the popular crew. My eyebrows scrunched in confusion as I saw the last boy relax his muscles, his arms dropping to the side as his head twitched and so did his hands. He lifted his chin to the air and inhaled a few times, closing his eyes for a brief moment and reopened them, slowly turning his head to the side, his eyes searching around.
“What is he doing?” I mumbled to myself. As soon as the words slipped past my lips, his eyes connected with mine.
