Elizabeth’s POV
"Thank you for saving me," I said as Zander stepped into my suite. Yes, I was still annoyed that I had to spend the remainder of the night here in the infirmary. The wolfsbane had knocked both Kona and me out, and around 6 a.m. we were both awake. I felt better, but my right side still had a burning feeling where my attacker stabbed me. At least the wound had started to heal.
"Mom, don't thank me. I should never have left your side." Zander's face pulled into a painful expression. He was hesitant to come any closer, and I knew why. He had stopped at the entrance of the door, reluctant to come closer. He had seen me freak out the night before while under the influence and having a panic attack. I guess he was afraid that if he entered, he would flip the switch again.
