Adrian Kingsley sat in the back seat of his car, staring at the city passing outside the window.
His thoughts were no longer focused on business.
Or even Sophia.
They were focused on one question.
Who started it?
Daniel glanced at him from the front seat.
“You’ve been quiet.”
Adrian didn’t look up.
“I’m thinking.”
“That’s usually dangerous.”
Adrian ignored the joke.
“If someone else arranged the plan three years ago, they had a reason.”
Daniel nodded.
“Obviously.”
“But what reason?” Adrian continued.
Daniel thought for a moment.
“Let’s break it down.”
Adrian finally looked up.
“Go on.”
“Someone wanted you and Elena separated.”
“That’s clear.”
“They used Sophia to finish the job.”
Adrian frowned.
“Meaning Sophia wasn’t the mastermind.”
“Exactly.”
Adrian leaned back
