Chapter 7: The Dinner Meeting

790 Words

The private dining room at the Grand Meridian Restaurant was quiet and dim, lit by a soft chandelier glow. Crystal glasses shimmered on the table, untouched. Adrian Kingsley arrived first. He stood by the window, hands in his pockets, staring at the city lights below. But his attention wasn’t in the view. It was on the door. Tonight, he would face Elena again—alone. The door opened. Elena Laurent walked in, composed as ever in a deep emerald dress. Her presence was calm and controlled. Lucas followed, pausing when he saw Adrian. “Mr. Kingsley.” “Lucas.” Lucas glanced between them, sensing the tension. “I’ll leave you two.” He stepped out, closing the door behind him. Silence settled. Elena took a seat. “Shall we begin?” Adrian remained standing for a moment. “I want the truth.”
