Mother Gaia (Nature) worked to keep harmony in the family and balance, along with Father Sun and Aunt Moon. And so there was winter to let the land rest, and the other seasons to let it breath and grow.
During this winter, Da was making the dug out larger. The soil was mixed with clay that he dug during the warmer days from the steep sides of creeks and feedlets to the ravines. It was also mixed with long dry grasses he collected from the clearings. These made a solid wattle to c***k the logs with and insulate our small hut against the weather.
