Zayn’s POV I pulled up to the house and cut the engine. For a moment, I just watched Alina, her eyes fixed somewhere far away, her face blank as if she had drifted out of the world. “We’re home,” I said softly. No reaction. I reached over and tapped her shoulder, and she flinched, snapping back into herself. “We’re home,” I repeated with a warm smile. “Oh…” Her voice was faint as she unbuckled her seatbelt. I got out first, circling around to her side. She moved slower, wincing, her steps uneven. I slipped an arm around her, steadying her as she leaned into me for support. Together, we crossed the threshold. But the sight inside stopped me cold. The house was chaos—clothes tossed everywhere, furniture overturned.
