Elias’s POV “Tell me this is a joke.” My voice trembles. She scoffs; the corner of her mouth lifts in that smug, unbearable way. “You’re f*****g joking.” Anger sharpens the words. “This isn’t a joke, Elias.” Her voice is flat, edged with irritation. “I’ve told you — I don’t love you. I don’t need you anymore. Leave me the f**k alone.” She straightens, the lines around her mouth hardening. “It’s only right I move on. I’ll be with someone who worships me.” Pain blooms behind my ribs. I take a step toward her; my knees want to buckle. “You can’t do this to me, Alina.” The words come out raw.
