Zayn’s POV “I’m sorry… we did everything we could, but we couldn’t save the baby.” The doctor’s words sliced through the air, sharp and merciless. For a moment, I couldn’t breathe. My mind went blank, my lips parted, but no sound came out. The baby? The words echoed in my head, hollow and cruel. “I—” My throat felt raw, my voice barely more than a whisper. “How’s Alina?” The doctor’s expression softened. “She’s stable now. It’s good she was brought in when she was. Another hour, and she wouldn’t have made it.” My hand curled into a fist.
