Chapter 2

1753 Words
I am now standing nowhere in a dark lane which makes me remind how I ran away from the cafe without even knowing where to go. I get an unusual feeling about it. It's near to sunset and I don't know where I am and that means-I am somewhat lost. People are slowing down as the sunset's coming close. I want to scream and cry loud but no one will hear me out and even if they will, I am not sure if they are going to help me or not. The night's really close now...I am trembling with fear. All my wrath and agony are just bursting out in tears. I want to hit someone really hard but since there's no one around, it makes me even more angry at myself. It was foolish of me running away leaving mom there, what would she be thinking? And above of that, what is my father thinking? He sure must be angry at me for running away. But something was damn clear to me- I am not going back. Ever. "Poor soul...", a voice suddenly echoed from behind. "It must be hard for thy, you seem lost", a suspicious voice said with a sympathetic tone. Now I am getting a feeling about this guy being a thief or something relatable to assassins. But the way he spoke, there was some charm in his voice. I don't exactly know where the voice was coming from but somehow it did, which was, therefore, waking my curiosity. For some reason, I think this guy, seems really bad. "Who are you?" I questioned firmly. "You don't know me, well...that's a shame". "Should I supposedly know you?" this guy's voice now sounded familiar. "I am afraid you should". "Your voice...it sounds somewhat familiar. Show yourself !"I demanded furiously. “That’s much of pride, don’t you think? I got a lot of hatred towards egoistic people”. What in Hades does he think he is? He is really getting on my nerves. Is he messing with me? “Stop messing around, just get your ass over here and show yourself ",that must have gotten him hard. “Oh dear, such rudeness is not acceptable. Have some respect when talking. What are you? An introvert? Behavior problem? Not much into socializing stuff, are you?" he said wickedly… Is he calling me shameless? Me? He should be the one showing manners and accuracy. “Just show yourself!”, I screamed hard. “I am standing next to you…” He wasn’t there when I first noticed but then I saw, a face like never before. So dazzling. He got a ghoulish face but a handsome one. There was a little scratch on his left eye which seemed like a cat's. He was so pale that it was almost hard for me to see the cut clearly. He got dark eyes and hair reaching down his shoulders (which was undoubtedly combed properly). He smiled wickedly. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark blue jeans and was somewhat alike to Nico di Angelo. And he was about my age... "Hey there...", he said with such gracefulness that it made me blush hard. "Who are you?". "You don't really remember me, do you?" he asked. "Umm...no..b..but your face is familiar", I said quietly. "You haven't realized it yet?", it sure made me looked more confused. "Realized what?" I asked surprisingly. "Oh god. Gordon...You are of no use", he murmured to himself. "Who's Gordon and firstly, who are you?". "I am Macallan Trance", he replied. "I am Christ_". "Aah! I know your name", he interrupted. "Ok...". "Now, we don't have much time left so let's just hurry up. Get in the car", he said. There was no sign of a car when I first looked around but astonishingly I saw it, out of nowhere, there was a massive Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita(the car which I wanted to buy when I grow up). “Whoa…”,I was so incredibly astonished and excited that when I spoke, a long sound of “arrgh” bounced. “Get in”. “Where are you taking me?”, I was so confused. “No time to explain, just get inside”, he sounded irritated. “But I prefer a clear explanation of what's going on right now and where are you taking me?", I was brave enough to focus on the words and landed it straightforward. His face was so pissed off that no one dares to speak a word. “Man! You are such a loudmouth. You really want to know?”. “ Yes!”. “First get in…NOW”, his words went screaming down my ears. “How can I trust you?'' ,no, really, how can I trust someone I just met. “You fear me?", I can see a smirk brighten up in his face “Well…Yes..Wh..What if you turned out to be a bad guy?", I suspected him. “A creep?'', he asked while smiling a little. “Worse than that and try to…you know..”. “Kill you? Strangle you? Or…try to…?’’. “STOP IT !”,I thought questioning him was making this situation even worse. I got inside and the first word that came up in my mind was- a kid, driving, doesn't exactly suits. “What's your age?", I asked with curiosity, though he looked much like my age. “Thirteen”. “You are a minor, how can you drive?", no seriously, how can he? Break the rules. “Much of a civilian, are you? Well, I got trained by Peter so it’s really easy for me to handle this”. “You are too young to drive, I don't think our country provides a kid's driving license”, I said, completely ignoring the question about Peter which I was about to ask. “We don't need a license in Arendra. Once you are ready, you can do anything”. “What? What are you talking about?Arendra? We are in Athens”, I protested. “Look around you before questioning”, he suggested. This is madness or I am insane. The dark lanes which were supposed to be there were no more. All I could see was mist everywhere. No sign of anyone or anything. Not even a light was there. Only foggy hill slopes and darkness. “Where exactly are we?", I asked while sitting next to the driver’s seat. “Just like I told you before, Arendra- The city of darkness and sufferings”. “This is the same place which I saw in my dreams…”,I said. “Because you were born here… You are a soothsayer, Christina, of the Apocalypse”, he replied. “A what?, there's more confusion. “A prophet of the Apocalypse”. Now, I am totally freaking out. I just realized I was a prophet of Apocalypse and I was not born where I thought I was. “What's exactly the meaning of Apocalypse?”, I approached, more curious than ever. “The final and the total destruction of the world. The Earth. You are not exactly what you think you are. You are a soothsayer, a prophet, a predictor of the future. You are destined to destroy the goddess and make Arendra, a beautiful and light place again”. Trust me, I didn't understand any single word he spoke nor do I want to understand. All I could think now was to get back home safely to my stepmom and biological dad. I started pinching myself in order to wake myself but unfortunately, Macallan noticed it. “What are you doing?", he asked humorously. “Waking myself from this nightmare”. “Are you nuts? It's not a dream, you are in here in real”, he started laughing now. He began to explain everything to me. From getting born and brought up in Arendra till getting brainwashed and adopted by my father. No way, Now I realized the third important thing, the one who is my father isn't actually my father. My biological and real dad was somewhat here in Arendra. “For what reason did I got brainwashed and why did I have such dreams about this place before?”, this thing was just a silly dream for me unless I realized it was important and really meaningful right now as I learned more about it. He's right, this is no dream, it’s so real. “Aaron Starwood, the bad guy, is looking for you everywhere. There was no choice for your father rather than just brainwash you and give you away to a family you can say it’s your own. If you didn’t get brainwashed, you must have driven crazy by seeing monsters at night and hearing these voices of Aaron, screaming, and possessing you over and over”, he answered. “What is this Aaron guy ?”. “Oh! He's a… a really bad guy”, he replied. “Bad? In what sense?", I was serious. “You will meet Darlene there, a girl with all your answers', he said. “But for now, just make sure you don't get into trouble', he advised. “Ok”, a simple answer to all my queries. Its been over two hours as I looked on my watch. The time was very different, it was 8:00 pm. “Days are usually dark, so it’s not easy to figure out not even by looking at your watch. Well, it’s going to be darker”, he said. “How much more miles to drive?" I asked. “Just one hour more and then, off to Arendra. Rest if you want, your eyes are tired and dozing off”. “Are they?", I asked calmly. “Indeed, you look like ghost king “, he said funnily. We laughed a little and I had no idea when I dozed off. As the nightfall, the moon’s light fell upon my eyes. Now, there was no mist or hill slopes. I could see clear- a truly beautiful city but no light, only darkness…
