CHAPTER TEN
Anticipation hung heavy in the air. Palmer, her coven, and their guards had taken up residence in their cabins and had been keeping to themselves in the two hours since they’d arrived. Rowe watched them as closely as he could, but he was only one man. He couldn’t see everything.
He wanted to head into the woods and get the lay of the land. If he were planning an attack, he wouldn’t do it out here in the open. No, he’d lure his prey out and take them when they were disoriented.
But he was a soldier and a wolf. He didn’t think like a witch.
Vi could give him some more insight, but he hadn’t seen her since Palmer had arrived. Probably for the best. She was a distraction, and one he couldn’t afford. Not right now.
