"You acting all jittery ain't gonna get us there any faster," Dad grumbled from the driver's seat.
I blew out a breath, trying my best to chill out.
"I can't help it," I said. "I told Deidra we'd be back like two hours ago."
"We're traveling with four kids, one of which is still in diapers," he replied. "You shouldn't have even tried to guess on a time at all."
I didn't bother replying. There was no point. Dad was right. I was just going off wishful thinking. Deidra isn't even mad about it. She just misses us, misses me. And f***k I miss the sh.it out of her.
