“It’s so nice to have you back here,” Teja said to Belle as she climbed beside her on the couch.
Belle was cuddled up in her mickey mouse pyjamas, staring blankly at some reality show on the television.
She really was happy to be back, but she missed Maxton more, so that was the emotion she was riding at in that moment.
Teja understood what Belle was feeling and decided to let her be. She did not try to give her any pep talk or bring up any random gist. She just sat down beside her, watching the show.
“I love him Teja,” Belle broke their silence.
“I know,” Teja answered.
“And that has complicated a lot of things,” Belle added, with her eyes still on the TV.
