They both had little sleep that night. They had done nothing except lay in each other's arms till the morning.
Belle held on tightly to Maxton with the thought that even if this day was the last day she got to be in his arms, then she would be able to cherish the memory of his body next to hers.
Maxton held on to Belle with the hope that she would stay there in his arms forever.
Belle slept off later on and woke up in the morning to find herself still wrapped around Maxton.
Maxton had not slept that night but had laid awake all through the night watching Belle as she slept.
"Good morning," Maxton said as she opened her eyes.
Belle yawned and smiled as she saw Maxton and closed her eyes to drift back for a little sleep when she realized what day it was.
