I wake up before the sunrise and stretch out the kinks in my bones and then throw the blankets off my body to get up and get a shower. After my hot shower I get dressed and go into the kitchen to start the coffee. As I get the Bible and sit it outside on my coffee table I hear my husband get up and shortly hear the shower turn on. He takes warm showers but for me it would be too cold. He says my showers would burn all his skin from his body, but he's just overreacting.
As soon as I see Tom, my husband, the coffee maker goes off letting us know the coffee is ready. He signals for me to stay in my cushioned chair as he gets two cups and makes our coffee. When he is finished he brings me my cup and then sits in his chair and sips his coffee. 'Nat, I have to see commander Randon Whitehorn today'.
Tom said calmly. 'Ok, should I be concerned or prepared?' I asked intently, ready to get the children ready for the underground bunker. 'No hun it's just business, he wants me to train the new military cadets'. He responded, taking another sip of his coffee. 'Ok sweetie after breakfast I'll make your lunch' I said without giving him another chance to say anything I got up with my coffee in hand to go make breakfast.
I got the eggs scrambling in the skillet and bacon in the other skillet while the biscuits are in the oven, while Tom went to wake the children. As I thought about it I chuckled to myself cause our daughter Ezzie. She's a rock when it comes to sleep. Her fluorescent skin shines with shades of emerald, light pink, and light purple. Her hair is just as beautiful with light purple and light pink changing where the sun hits it. She has a warrior's heart though and has started training by herself. When the cadets train she peeks through the fence and learns the different combat moves. Against the rules of being a certain age to join the military she still trains. In the mornings however it's like waking up a bear. Soon enough though I hear Tom leaving her room and going to our middle son's room as Ezzie's shower turned on. Our middle son Sage is easier somewhat and his strict emerald fluorescent hair and skin shines with radiance when he runs and plays. His shower turns on and Tom goes to our youngest child's room, Caiden. His skin and hair shined with a darker emerald but still magical. Caiden vocalized his dissatisfaction with getting up. Which made me laugh out loud, before hearing his shower turn on.
Tom came back into the kitchen and sat at the table coffee still in hand but almost gone. As I made the breakfast biscuits the children made their way into the kitchen for their breakfast and eager to go outside and play with the other children before the Teacher came to take them in the forest to teach about whereabouts. 'Good mornin momma, love you' they sang in harmony before grabbing their breakfast biscuit and running outside. 'Love you too children' I said as we both watched out babies run out the house. Tom came up behind me and hugged me and we looked at our laughing children with love......... and a nagging sense of danger.
