Twenty-Five Solma’s too furious to care that she’s terrifying the Earth Whisperer children. She bursts into their camp, ignoring their tears. The sun’s barely up and the village is just stirring. Solma doesn’t bother with ceremony. She unhitches her rifle from her shoulder and snaps off the safety, stopping just short of aiming it at Mamba. “Give me back my brother,” she snarls. She’d stormed home after saving the nest, expecting to find Warren there, expecting to confront Cobra and throw her out. But neither Cobra nor Warren were there. There was only one place they could be and Solma marched straight here. Mamba blinks, nonplussed. He’s a good liar, Solma thinks.
