849 Words
Having finally got home after leaving Thomas, Wendy dropped her bag and quickly got on the phone. The Alonso Capri murder was disturbing her. She knew it was a part of her past , a past that she knew quite well but wanted to forget. And while she had been able to prove to Thomas and his colleague that she had nothing to do with it, she had a feeling the case wouldn't end there. Thomas and Diane would come after her again. This she didn't want. She had to phone the one person she knew that could help her. His name was Aaron Halds and he was her contact while she was working at the Hotel Trespass Night Club Casino. It was here that Wendy met Alonso Capri. He was a regular who came with a few trusted men to play at the Casino. His coming was more like an event as he always booked a private room when he came. Wendy was working under Aaron who was an agent that supplied most of the girls that worked in the Casinos. He used them as bar tenders to privately serve the most influential people that came to gamble, such as Alonso himself. Wendy was his favorite and so he made her his number one choice for when men like Alonso would come to the Casino. She dialled Aaron's number and waited. It took some time before he answered. "Hey Wendy, I thought I told you not to call me?" he asked her "Sure, and how was I suppose to contact you?" she asked "Is everything okay?" "A van picked me up and took me to the police station for questioning." "Alonso, right?" "Yep." Aaron sighed as he knew there was trouble ahead. He had no choice but to tell Wendy to meet him. "Okay look, meet me at my place right now." he said. "Sure." Wendy cut the call and immediately left the house. She boarded a taxi and got to Aaron's house. When she rang the bell and he opened it, she found herself in front of not only Aaron himself, but three other men. She was surprised to see them and opened her mouth in shock. "Everything's alright Wendy. These guys are here to help." he said closing the door. He put his hands around her shoulders and walked her into the sitting room. The three men followed and they all sat down. Wendy looked at the face of each man that Aaron had told her was here to help. She didn't like the look on their faces as they had a rigid and menacing look. She had no idea why her meeting with him involved these men. "So why are these men here ?" Aaron adjusted his voice while he quickly reached for a bottle of scotch and five glasses. He place the bottle on the sitting room table and poured drink into each of the glasses. He picked up a glass and each of the three men took one too. Wendy hesistated. "Join us,I'm sure you'll need it before we start talking." he said as he sipped his drink. Wendy stared at each of the men as they held their drinks to their mouth and started drinking. She reluctantly joined them. As she drank a little, Aaron got up to speak. "Wendy, don't be surprised seeing these men here. They are here for a good reason." he gestured to one of the men and the man got his brief case and brought out a file. Wendy looked at the file and had a feeling she had seen the file somewhere. Then she remembered it was the same file she had taken out of Thomas's safe. "Wait," she said getting up, " how did you get this file?" she asked. Aaron looked at her. "Well that's what I'm about to explain so sit down and listen." he said. Wendy looked at the face of the three men and then looked at Aaron who raised his eyebrows at her. She sat down. "Alonso Capri was too big a problem for everyone." "So what does that have to do with me?" Wendy chipped in. Aaron looked sternly at her and this made her sit back. "He alway went to the Trespass Night Club Casino to gamble. It's not bad if you're going there from time to time. But he made it a habit of going there every single day." Aaron got up and started walking up and down the sitting room. "He always booked a private room for his gambling sessions. Fine if you want privacy. But running business from inside a Casino?" Aaron looked at Wendy. "Don't look at me, I only served the drinks."she said. "I know. But you were serving a man that had the contacts of the most shady business dealers all inside a file on a microSD card; and he always carried it along with him." Terror filled Wendy's eyes on hearing what Aaron had just said and she Immediately fainted. Aaron and the three other men quickly rushed to her aid.
