Xavier’s Pov I turned my chair towards the city view and watched the sunlight as it flashed off the towers that were made of steel. “Conditions don’t scare me, what do they want?” “I’m afraid this one might.” There was silence for a while as I stared at the towers more intensely than before. I could’ve sworn I heard Grandfather chuckle. “The board demands stability, Xavier.” I frowned. Was that all? “And we have that in abundance, our stats are proof of our long-term…” “Again, you misunderstand,” he interrupted. “They want stability of a different kind. One that has to do with public image, moral assurance, and whatever the PR Idiots are calling it this quarter.” He exhaled deeply, as if the act cost him more than he wanted to say. I could tell he was serious and this was no joke
