Asmeria moaned gently as the sun peered into the room through the floor length window and shone directly into her squinting eyes. Placing a hand on her forehead, she stirred uncomfortably in her sleep. While the sheets underneath her crumpled.
She felt herself burning up and she forced herself up to sit straight, looking around the room with a small groan. She stretched her hands to the bedside table to pick something up but she accidentally knocked off the glass of water she was searching for.
She had got into an argument with Thorian last night about her not wanting to have s*x with him and her yelling at him must have brought up the fever that had been trying to get out for weeks but she was too busy to take care of herself.
She leaned back in bed, not doing anything as her hands trembled gently from the fever she was feeling. Her throat felt dry and she felt dizzy but she knew it would pass by like it always does.
As she leaned back in bed, Thorian's walked out of the bathroom in a bathrobe and a small towel he was using in cleaning his hair. His body was still wet and the clothes he had on clung to his body like it had been stuck on by glue to his body.
“Good morning.” He said to her, not looking at her but she didn't reply and just closed her eyes. He turned to look at her and he saw she was trembling and he rushed over to her. He didn't know why he was panicking as he saw her like that.
Immediately his hands touched her, he felt her body temperature and he suddenly flinched. It was rare for wolves to actually be this feverish. “Asmeria, are you fine?” He asked tapping her cheeks but there was no response.
Thorian lifted her in his arms and took her out of the room immediately. “Call the pack doctor, immediately.” He thundered.
The pack doctor rushed over to the clinic where Thorian had brought in Asmeria. They did a quick scan on her and declared she was fine and just has been stressed that met with extreme fever in her system.
“Are you sure she's fine?” Thorian asked the doctor as he buttoned up his shirt and they doctor nodded gently. Thorian looked over at Asmeria and ran his finger through her hair. “Why on earth won't you rest?” He said through gritted teeth before taking her back to their room to have a proper and much comfortable space to sleep on.
“Is momma going to be okay?” Evander asked as he sat by Asmeria's bed.
“Yes, she should wake up after resting for a few minutes.” Thorian replied and the little boy nodded gently as he looked at her with so much worry in his eyes.
Thorian could see he loved her so much and it sparked up an emotion in him but he shook it off. He was just using her to get custody of his son, there was nothing special between them anymore. She obviously hated him and the only thing he could do, is hate her back too.
After a few hours, Asmeria woke up with Evander next to her bed staring right at her. “Baby.” She whispered as she ran her fingers through his hair.
“Momma, why did you become sick? I was so worried.” Evander said with tears rolling down his cheeks. She had really scared him the way the maids spoke about her breaking down.
“It's fine my love. I'm fine now.” Asmeria chuckled as she lifted herself up and pulled him into a soothing hug. “I'll never leave you and nothing will ever happen to me, okay?”
Evander nodded and hugged her back, trying to force back tears from spilling from his eyes. “Don't go again momma.” He said, sniffing and Asmeria patted his back gently.
“Relax, I'm not going anywhere.”
“Then start acting like it.” Thorian said and she turned her head to look at him with a raised brow. “I don't want my son worried because of your negligence.”
“Excuse me? Who is the cause of my sickness, isn't it all you? Did I tell you I want a change of environment or the stress of going through it? Whatever happened is because I went to the stress of going from pack to pack.” Asmeria said with anger as she swung her feet off the bed and grabbing Evander's hand. “You should at least do a thing and get a decent thank you instead of making things worse. But thank you.”
Asmeria barged out of the room in irritation and anger. He was just too irritating for her liking. She wanted to at least not make things worse for him but right now, she didn't even carw again. He only wanted her son and didn't want her, she has right over her son and she could make trying to make him the alpha hell for him if he wasn't careful enough.
“Momma, are you angry?” Evander asked with a mischievous smile and she turned to look at him with a small chuckle.
“No, I'm not.” She replied, squatting down to pull him into a hug.
“That's good, because I don't want you angry.” He said cutely which made her laugh as she hugged him again.
“I'm not okay?” She said and he nodded gently before they turned to continue down to the kitchen.
Just then, some maids walked past them a cart of food. As they saw her, they bowed their heads and she waved at them before continuing down the kitchen where everyone instantly became quiet when they saw her.
“Good morning your majesty.” The head maid said with a bow and Asmeria nodded. “How may I help you this morning?”
“I'll personally like to make breakfast for Evander.” Asmeria said.
“Uhh, your majesty, I'm sorry you can't. His majesty will get angry and…”
“Then, it's an order.”
They all looked surprised as Asmeria sat Evander down and started to cook for him. The duo conversed like best friends and didn't mind the other's presence. They laughed and Evander was assisting Asmeria as she made breakfast obvious for both of them.
“Mhmm… so delicious.” Evander said with a satisfied sigh. “You're the best mommy.”
“Thanks my love.” Asmeria said as she kissed his cheeks gently. Just then, Thorian walked into the kitchen with his hands in his pocket. He has been wondering what that heavenly smell was and as he saw Asmeria in the kitchen, he knew it was her cooking.
The maids guled in fear when they saw him in the kitchen. They expected him to flare up about the reason they would have his wife cook by herself but he didn't and just watched the two of them from the door of the kitchen and when Asmeria noticed him, she walked over to him with a plate of food.
“I made lunch for you. If your don't want it, just dump it.” She said, turning back to Evander but Thorian carried her, throwing her over his shoulders which caused her to scream. “Thorian, put me down.”
Thorian just ignored her as he picked his plate up and gestured to Evander to leave the kitchen. “What on earth are you doing? Put me down this instant.”
“Not a chance.” He replied as he walked up the stairs with her still over his shoulders. “You should be in bed now, resting.”
“I'm feeling perfectly fine, just let go.” Asmeria protested but he just placed her on the bed, staring right at her as he tasted the food with him.
He couldn't deny, it was the most delicious he has ever had in years. He sincerely missed her cooking. “Leave the cooking to the cooks.”
