Thorian stood behind Asmeria, helping to fasten her bra clasp. When it came together, he let go of it and slowly ran his hand down her shoulders to her back.
He leaned in closer, his mouth hovering above her ear.
"Did you enjoy it, darling?" He questioned, his breath on her skin prompted butterflies in her belly.
She gave a soft smile, nodding in affirm.
A satisfied smirk slyed Thorian's lips.
"Are you hurt?" he added. After all, he had just taken her virginity.
Her smile fizzled a bit, "Just a bit sore. But I'm fine." she replied.
Thorian's hands gracefully slid around Asmeria's waist, gently turning her to face him.
He tucked behind a loose strand of her hair behind her ears, smiling as he face lit up at his touch.
"I want to marry you, Asmeria." he declared suddenly, his tone full of excitement.
Asmeria, taken aback by the boldness of his statement, blinked in surprise.
Marriage?
Her smile disappeared swiftly. She had only just met this man. Granted, they were mates and they had just had s*x but marriage so soon?
It was not like she didn't want to get married to him—she did, and very much so.
But, not so soon. There were so many things that could go wrong.
Thorian, observing her reaction, began to realize that maybe he had been a bit too forward.
He saw the confusion in her eyes and acknowledged, "Perhaps I've moved too fast." he chuckled. She looked up at him. "Pardon me. I am just so…mesmerized by you, Asmeria. I can't contain myself."
Asmeria, still processing his proposal, managed a small smile. "It's just... quite unexpected."
Thorian softened, "I understand. Take your time to consider. Perhaps, at the very least, you could come and live with me in my palace. I've noticed that Cedric and your sister don't treat you well."
Asmeria, stammering a bit, revealed, "Well, you see, they aren't actually my biological siblings."
Thorian, surprised by the information, responded, "What?"
She smiled, shaking her head, "It's a matter for another day." She took a deep breath, "But yes, I'm ready to move in with you."
Was she really doing the right thing, or was she still along the paths of moving too fast?
Thorian couldn't help but smile. Hr picked Asmeria up in his arms, twirling her around gently. She giggled, caught in the moment.
As he lowered her back fown, he planted a sweet kiss on her cheek before placing another on her lips.
"You make me so happy, Asmeria." he smiled, "Can't wait for us to spend the rest of our lives together." he added.
And then with a playful glint in his eyes, he whispered, "Come with me, immediately. Tonight."
Asmeria, slightly shocked by the suddenness, looked up at him in bewilderment.
Tonight?
She was going to move in with him tonight?
It's not like she was going to mjss this palace or miss looking forward to anything — or anyone in particular, but the change…it was all happening so suddenly.
And alarming as well. A bit of fright gripped her heart.
"Okay." She breathed, looking into his eyes. "I'll move in with you. Tonight."
His smile grew wider and he leaned in, planting a kiss on her cheek again.
"Shall we go and tell them downstairs, then?" He questioned.
Asmeria hesitated for a moment, uncertainty flickering in her eyes.
Asannah would murder her in her sleep if she dared spend a night in this palace after mating with Thorian. So it was best she left tonight anyways.
But she knew Asannah wouldn't give up, neither would Cedric. Those two never took no for an answer — and she feared what their reactions might be when they find out about she ane Thorian.
Well, there was no going back kow.
Thorian, sensing her hesitation, offered a reassuring smile and extended his hand to her.
Asmeria, taking a deep breath, nodded and placed her hand in Thorian's.
Together, they left the balcony and descended the grand staircase.
When they got to the dining hall, Cedric and Asannah, engrossed in a conversation, shot up from their seats as Thorian and Asmeria entered the room.
The sudden interruption halted their discussion, and all eyes turned toward the unexpected couple.
Asannah's eyes were locked onto their intertwined fingers. A scowl took over her face, her fists clenched in anger at the sight. Slowly, her gaze moved upward to Asmeria's neck, where the unmistakable mark of a mate was revealed.
What. The. Actual. f**k.
Her eyes widened in utter disbelief, a gasp emitting her lips.
In shock and anger, she yelled, "How could this happen? When did you two become mates?"
Thorian, maintaining a calm demeanor, replied, "We just discovered our bond, and it has been consummated accordingly."
The angered scrunch on Asannah's face deepened. Not only were they now mates, but they had also had s*x as well?
What the hell was happening.
Asmeria, standing beside Thorian, looked down, avoiding eye contact with her enraged sister.
"Asmeria and I will be heading back to my kingdom. We'll proceed with the marriage soon."
Asannah's jaw dropped again, horror expressed on her face.
Wait, what was happening? They were f*****g mates, they f****d and now they were going to get married?
She couldn't express her sadness, anger, jealousy and disappointment in words.
She simply huffed, proceeding to stomp away from the dining room.
As Asannah left the room,.Thorian turned to Cedric, stating,
"Invitations will be sent to you and your sister. If you'd like to attend, you're welcome."
Cedric didn't even know what to say, he was dumbfounded. How could all of this happen?
His sister was there, fit and beautiful enough yet the Lycan King had decided to get married to his omega, adopted sister?
Turning back to Asmeria, Thorian declared, "We're leaving now."
Asmeria hesitated, "Let me go upstairs and pack a few things."
Thorian dismissed the idea, "No need. I'll buy you ten times of whatever you have upstairs. Let's go."
Though Asmeria wanted to protest, she swallowed her words and followed Thorian out of the dining room.
As Asmeria walked out of the palace, a place she had called home for over a decade, she wondered if she was making the right decision.
Deep down in her, she could feel it — something was wrong somewhere, or something was going to go wrong with all of this eventually.
Despite knowing this, however, she still wanted to see where life would lead her to with Thorian.
Dare she say it, but she loved him.
And she hoped to the gods that she was not making a wrong decision.
