Chapter Twenty “What I cook is none of your business, I cook for my son and he enjoys my food better than that your cooks make.” Asmeria said to him, getting off the bed but he grabbed her hands and she forced herself not to hit him. “Let go of me Thorian.” “You have to stay in bed and rest. No need to argue with me now.” Thorian said calmly. “We have a lot of things to go through together.” Asmeria ignored him, walking into the bathroom to take a bath. The bath was already prepared for her and she just took off her clothes, soaking herself into the warm water to get Thorian's stress out of her head. Asmeria didn't know when she fell asleep in the water due to its soothing ingredients and by the time she woke up, she was already in bed, dressed in her night dress. Asmeria quickly stood up, looking around the room, wondering why she was in the room instead of the bathtub where she slept off. She saw Thorian at the edge of the bed, buttoning up his shirt. “How did I get here?” She asked, covering her chest with her hands. “I brought you here. Is there any issue with me bringing my wife here into the room after she fell asleep in an uncomfortable position?” He asked with a raised brow and it took all of her self control not to stand up and hit him. “I don't appreciate that. You should have just left me in there, I would have appreciated that better than you using the opportunity to see me without clothes.” Asmeria said, getting out of bed. “Don't flatter yourself. I can easily get any woman outside if I wanted to stare at a naked body all day.” Thorian said, his tone thick with mockery but she just ignored him. He wanted her to react to his behavior but she knew she would never do that no matter how hard he tries to push her to the wall. “Thank you for your thoughtfulness though.” She replied calmly, walking into the dressing room. She changed into a new dress before walking out to meet him in the room but he already left and she didn't mind at all. “You two have to start getting along if you want to leave quickly.” Her wolf said to her and she knew she was totally right. If she wanted to get her freedom quickly, she needed to make sure Thorian doesn't suspect a thing with her. “We can't just escape him that way. He needs to do whatever he wants to and we have to get out of his way.” Asmeria reminded her wolf before turning to the large floor to ceiling mirror to check her reflection before stepping out of the room where she found Thorian standing there trying to strike a conversation with Evander who was just staring at him and immediately he saw his mother, he rushed over to her. “When are we going back home? I don't like this place.” Evander said to her and she lifted him I'm her arms with a slight groan. “It's okay baby. Just ask them to do whatever you want. We'll be staying here for a while.” Asmeria said, ruffling his hair gently before dropping him and Evander nodded gently before walking away, his gaze not leaving Thorian who was looking at him. “He looks just like me.” Thorian said with a prideful look on his face. “He's not your son, Thorian.” Asmeria said but he just ignored her, walking towards his office. “Come over, I still have something to show you.” He said and she followed him without questioning him. They both arrived in his office and he handed her some documents as she sat at the coffee table. “Go through them and tell me your thoughts.” As he said this, he walked over to his table, comfortably sitting there as he looked at Asmeria from a distance. “What do you mean by this trash? Just because I am married to you doesn't mean you can use your authority to exploit me.” She yelled, slamming the file against the table in anger. “Have you seen what is in this at all?” “Yes, I drafted it.” He said and Asmeria scoffed looking everywhere but him in disbelief before setting her eyes on him. “You can't be serious. I know you can't be. If you want to use my son against me, know that is impossible. Why will you get full custody of my son if I leave our marriage?” She asked him with a raised brow. “He is my son, you have no proof he is your son. You just barged into my life, telling me he is your son.” “Then whose son is he? I don't want you answering that but the end of the discussion is what is written in those papers. And you have to take it that way. It's not a choice.” He slammed his fist against the table and she equally yelled back. “I do have a choice. I have a right, I have a choice because I am his guardian and if I take him out of this pack, I am his legal guardian and you're not. There's not a single one of you who can take my son from me. I would not allow it no matter how hard you try.” She yelled and he looked at her with a stunned expression. “Oh yes, be stunned because I am telling you the truth and I'd rather die than make you take my son from me.” “Maybe that would be so much better, then I would be his legal guardian and you'll be out of my way for good. I won't have to listen to you yell and scream at me all day.” He said, leaning into his chair and she looked at him in disbelief. How could he utter such stupid and shameless words from his lips? “You're shameless and an irritating man. I won't fail to tell you that over and over again on how shameless you are. You have no shame and it disgusts me to the core.” She said in annoyance before grabbing the papers and ripping it into pieces. “We never spoke about this and I never want to speak about it.” “If you walk out that door, I've concluded you agreed to my proposal.” Thorian said and she stopped in her tracks. “I make the rules around here and that's final.” “Oh yes, I forgot that's true.” She replied, rubbing her chin before storming towards him. Secretly, he braced himself for whatever was coming and to his surprise, she jumped out the window behind him, landing in the garden. He was shocked and he turned to look at her. “You never said anything about taking the window.” She replied and he tried hard not to burst into laughter at her cuteness. He couldn't believe she came up with that. “Don't ever bring that proposal to me because I would never agree to it no matter what you say about it or any additional thing you bring to it.” She said before walking away. He leaned back in his chair as he watched her walk back I to the passageway heading towards whatever direction it is she had in mind. He didn't know why he was happy about what she just did but it warmed his heart that she made him smile with the cuteness he saw in her years ago. “You have no business with her, Thorian. You have just a few months left to leave so you have to make that child the perfect figure needed to rule after you.” Vanrad's words flowed back into his head and his smile was immediately wiped off. He was right.
