Asmeria sat by the fire in Evander's room, singing to him as she knitted some mittens for him. She looked at him with so much love in her eyes, knowing no one could take him from her no matter how hard they try, unless they take her out of the picture first which wasn't possible.
“Go to bed now, Evander. There's a long day of learning ahead.” Asmeria said, lifting him in her arms as she carried him to his bed. “I hope you've been understanding what you're being taught?” Asmeria asked him and he nodded as she went under the sheets.
“I want you to sleep in my room tonight, mother.” He said in a low voice, not letting go of her hands. “The room is too big for just me.”
“Alright sweetheart.” Asmeria said, sitting next to him in bed as she continued to sing to him, knitting the mittens in her hand.
Asmeria didn't know when she fell asleep over there Evander hugging her tightly. Thorian walked into the room, looking at the mother and son duo asleep in bed. He just leaned against the doorframe, looking at both of them before heading to the fireplace, putting out the fire before closing the doors to his balcony.
He walked over to Asmeria and lifted her in his arms before leaving Evander in the room. He toon Asmeria back into their room and watched as she peacefully slept and he couldn't help but feel something he hadn't felt towards anyone in a while, even Asannah while she was trying her best to make him fall in love with her.
“I'm not sorry for leaving you at all, Asmeria. It has given me the chance to build something for you and Evander. Now that you're back, I won't let some guy come over to take you from me, no matter how hard he tries.” Thorian said before planting a kiss on her forehead, then he walked towards the bathroom to take a bath.
As he left the room, Asmeria opened her eyes, looking towards the direction he had disappeared into. A frown appeared on her lips after she heard what he just said. It wasn't safe for her to be here with her son. He sounded like an obsessive freak and she didn't like that at all.
Asmeria got back to sleep before he could leave the bathroom and find her awake. Asmeria felt as Thorian walked into the room, he laid next to her in bed and she felt him turn on the bed and after a few minutes, his arm went round her waist, pulling her closer to himself.
She didn't act tense and allowed him to do whatever he wanted to do but he just fell asleep while holding her and although she couldn't sleep because she felt uncomfortable, she let him be that way when he started having nightmares like thirty minutes after he fell asleep.
After a few hours, she fell asleep and woke up the following morning with Thorian's arm still around her waist but he was awake, just staring at the ceiling looking at something she didn't know about.
“What's wrong?” Asmeria asked as she sat up in bed, pushing his hands off her but he didn't say anything and just turned to look at her. “What?” She asked again before he let out a sigh.
“You could have just removed my hand if I was disturbing you.” He replied, getting off the end and she didn't know or understand what he was talking about. She didn't say a word after that and just swung her feet down the bed, getting out of bed to head to the bathroom.
Thorian watched as she pulled off her hair band and other accessories she had worn to bed. He didn't know why he found it really interesting to watch her do all of that and when she noticed his gaze on her, she looked at him with a raised brow but he still didn't keep hi sgaze off her.
Standing up, he headed towards her, standing just a step away from her. He looked down at her and she looked up at him due to their height difference. “Do you dislike me that much, Asmeria?” He asked and she looked at him with a raised brow. “You know well what I'm talking about so don't look at me like that.”
“I honestly don't know what you're talking about and if you can't tell me what, don't expect me to engage in the conversation with you.” She replied coldly and he chuckled.
“There's no need for you to do that. You actually look more cute the way you stand there pouting than when you understand me.” He replied. “Why did you even leave in the first place? Despite rejecting you, I would have protected you from everyone out there without my father knowing.”
“I am just an omega and you went ahead to mate with my sister, why? Because she's the alpha's daughter and I'm just his adopted omega daughter who you're disappointed in because you're very perfect.” She spat at him angrily and he patted her head gently.
“I never really cared about all that, Asmeria. You could have just told me the truth from the beginning and I would know how I would take care of everything. It hurt me that you didn't trust me enough to open up to me.” He said in a calm voice but there wasn't a hint of a smile on his face at all. “And to top it all off, you stole from me.”
“I never spent a dime from that gold. I was robbed of it all. How do you think I would be able to leave the pack with heavy gold when you just rejected me? I would be weak.” She pointed out and what she said did make sense but he didn't say a word. “Don't think explaining yourself would change a thing. It doesn't change the fact that the only reason you're back with me is because if Evander and you think you've won by making him yiur crown prince, but if I don't want him to take over, then he won't. Besides, I'm his mother and he would rather listen to me than you.”
“Watch your mouth, Asmeria. Don't make me mad this morning.” He threatened and she scoffed, looking at him while rolling her eyes.
“Do you think I care at all. Do your worst Thorian. You're just pained by the fact that you're unable to have a child with Asannah while I left you and had my own child and a happy life while you're here, drowning in tasks and Asannah's constant disturbance. Because I know her well, she won't let you off the hook that easily when you're unable to give her a child that she wants from you.” Asmeria scoffed mockingly and he didn't know why it pained him alot but he just swallowed his pride and cleared his throat.
“You have your choice to think anyhow you like.” He replied. “But if you think you can leave me this time around, Asmeria, forget about it completely. You're going to stay with me till I tell you to leave.”
She was about to say something but he grabbed her face harshly, forcing a kiss on her. She forcefully pushed him away, gasping for breath. “What has gotten into you. Get off me, Thorian.” She groaned and rushed over to the bathroom.
“Goodness, what's wrong with you Thorian?” He groaned, pushing off the entire cabinet near him with a loud thud. He barged out of the room angrily.
Asmeria stood in the bathroom, her hands placed on her chest as she breathed out heavily. She wasn't ready for his kiss at all and it made her heart pound heavily.
