Asmeria walked down the aisle in her sparkling wedding dress. The dress was the most expensive and also the most beautiful that could be found in the entire pack.
She didn't look too thrilled to be there but she had to do it for the sake of doing it. Thorian was standing at the altar with his hands in his pockets. Asmeria glanced over at him and she was quite embarrassed that he didn't have his hands down in a respectful way. All grooms were to stand to wait for their bride.
Asmeria kept her gaze on the aisle as she clutched her bouquet of roses harder under her veil. “Let's just get this over and down with then.” She replied as she took another step forward.
Thorian walked down to her and took her hands in his before walking her up the stairs hand in hand. “Cooperate and don't start with an unhappy face this afternoon.” He whispered into her ear and she nodded gently before facing the priest standing there.
“We are here to witness the union of Alpha Thorian Blackthorne and Lady Asmeria Veridian.” The priest said as the duo turned to face each other. Everything the priest was blocked out as Asmeria stared at Thorian from under her veil. “Do you, Alpha Thorian, accept Lady Asmeria as your truly wedded wife?”
“I do.” He said which brought her attention back to the real world.
“Do you, Lady Asmeria accept Alpha Thorian as your alpha and truly wedded husband?” The priest asked and Asmeria hesitated for a while before speaking up.
“I do.” She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“With the authority bestowed upon me, I pronounce you two, husband and wife.” The priest said before turning to Thorian. “You may kiss the bride.”
Thorian turned to look at her and she looked back at him as he slowly removed the veil covering her face. If she didn't know his intentions, she would have fallen in love with him over again with this little gesture. She expected her wedding to be the best after he already left her life but she didn't expect it to be him again, trying to ruin the happiness she was already getting back.
She gritted her teeth in anger which he noticed but he ignored as he cupped her cheek with his palm and brought her face closer to himself. As their lips touched, she couldn't lie that she didn't feel the sparks that flew through their connection.
As they pulled away, they stared at each other for a few seconds before turning back to the crowd who already went crazy in applause. Some were still wondering why Thorian didn't hold a wedding for Asannah and did for Asmeria now. All they wanted to know was the reason behind the woman's return.
“I have an important announcement that I would like to publicly announce on this day.” Thorian said, Asmeria looking up at him. “I'll use this day to introduce the soon to be crown prince to you.”
Asmeria looked shocked because he hadn't informed her beforehand that he would be making Evander the crown prince today. It wasn't even sure if the two were biologically related and he wasn't even making his intentions hidden at all.
One of the officials walked over with the crown he had made for Evander sitting on the pillow with him. “Evander, come over.” Thorian said and Evander did as he said, walking over to Thorian, occasionally glancing over at Asmeria who was stunned but nodded gently. “This is my son, and the one I'll be crowning to take over after my legacy.”
Evander took Thorian's hands as the guards brought in his throne. Everyone rose from their seats and Asmeria stood there looking at Evander who looked nervous at all the attention he was getting. “It's fine.” Thorian said to him with a small smile.
“Today, with the wedding celebration, we crown you, the crown prince of Obsidian pack.” Thorian said and Evander knelt before him as he slowly placed the crown on his head before leading him to the throne where he sat immediately.
Everyone in the hall bowed their heads in respect to the new crown prince and Asmeria did the same but she wasn't very happy about it. Thorian could see that and as they stepped out of the hall, he grabbed her arm under the veil. “What is wrong with you? Do you think I have time to deal with rumors if they find you looking displeased at my decision?”
“That is because I am displeased and you have to deal with it anyways.” Asmeria said, snatching her hands away from his grip before walking away from him, holding Evander in her arms.
“What should we do about it, your majesty? People will want to see her after the ceremony and we can't say she isn't available.” Thorian's assistant, Julius said.
“Tell them she will be out soon and is just taking a rest along with myself.” Thorian ordered as he followed Asmeria and Evander who already walked into their private garden.
“Mommy, did you know about him crowning me?” Evander asked Asmeria as she sat him down on the bench in the garden, removing the crown on his head.
“No I didn't.” Asmeria said, cleaning his face with her palm. “You should just cooperate with him and don't let him make things hard for us okay?” Evander nodded in agreement and she looked up to see Thorian standing there.
“So you're starting to turn him against me.” Thorian said and Asmeria scoffed as she looked back at him.
“So did you tell me about crowning my son this afternoon? Did you ask him if he wanted it now or not that you're already burdening him with whatever it is you have in your pack that you need an heir for. And I already told you that he is not…” Before Asmeria could complete her sentence, he walked over to her and covered her mouth with his palm.
“Evander, go to Julius, I asked him to prepare your lunch for you already.” Thorian said and Evander nodded before walking out of the garden and Asmeria pushed his hand away from her mouth with a frown on her face.
“What are you doing?” She asked and Thorian looked at her with a sigh.
“Please stop making this difficult for me, Asmeria.” Thorian said with a groan and she scoffed, looking around.
“I'm making it difficult for you? Thorian, Evander is not your son. I know he is the reason you kept me here but if you want your true bloodline, he is not yours.” She pointed out to him again but he wasn't ready to believe it at all.
He strongly believed Evander was his son and whatever it was she had going on to try to escape from him by lying won't work at all and she knew he wasn't ready to listen to her either so she just walked past him but he grabbed her hands, stopping her from going any further. “What is it now?”
“We are returning to the hall. You can't leave the wedding halfway.” He said and she just let out a sigh and followed him over anyway to save herself the stress of talking too much with him.
They both returned to the hall where everyone was busy getting to know each other and chit chatting. The whole hall seemed bright except Asmeria who just sat on her throne, looking at the guests.
“Your majesty.” A middle aged woman walked over to them with a bright smile. “It's so good to finally see you settling down and having an heir, Thorian.”
“Very funny.” Thorian rolled his eyes as she took Asmeria's hands.
“If you need anything at all, just ask Thorian to send me a letter on your behalf, I'll be here immediately.” She said, pushing the loose strands of her hair back to its place. “And you can call me aunt Lee.”
“Thank you aunt Lee.” Asmeria said, forcing out a smile.
“I'll see you later, I have some people I have to deal with dear.” Lee said before walking away and Asmeria let out a sigh of relief. She wasn't ready for any long talks with anyone right now. She just wanted peace and quiet for once since she arrived without anyone fussing about her getting married to Thorian.
Asannah stood at the corner of the hall twirling the glass with her before dropping the glass with a waiter and walking over to Thorian and Asmeria with a small box in her hand.
“Well, congratulations to you, your majesties. I hope your marriage is blissful with new children.” Asannah said in a mocking tone as she handed the box over to Asmeria. “You should open it now and I would love to see how much you love your gift.”
Asmeria pulled the cover open and she almost threw up when she saw what was in the box.
