CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

1975 Words
Chapter Nine As the thief turned back to look at the individual standing there. He ran out of the scene for his dear life and this surprised Asmeria. Was this a higher ranked thief? She thought. Was he going to beat her up now and kill her? She couldn't die like this. Not in their condition. “Are… are you going to kill me?” She asked and he looked at her with a stunned expression. “I don't have anything. He took it already.” “So because my aura made a thief flee, you see me as one too? I didn't expect you to be so judgemental when I first met you.” He said with a small smile. He was lavishly dressed in an expensive robe and she could tell he was wealthy, but what does he want from her? “The first time you met me?” Asmeria asked him with a raised brow. She didn't know if it was her weakness but she tried to search her memory for wherever she had met this stranger but nothing came up and all she felt was more headache and she forced herself to keep her eyes open. “I'm sorry, I can't remember you.” She stated softly. “You slept with me the other night.” He said and she looked at him like he just said something really stupid. “Excuses me?” She said. “Who?” He didn't say a word again. He just smiled and placed his hands in his pockets gently. “Do you have anywhere you're going to?” He asked her, looking around like there was a destination close by. “I can drop you off if you want. Your condition doesn't look really good.” He added and she knew it was true. If she let him go, she might die here. “I don't have anywhere to go. Can you please help me?” She asked and he looked at her for a few minutes before walking over to her, lifting her in his arms. “Stay still. I'll take you along with me. We are very far from my kingdom and I just came here for some trade so you will bear with em as we travel. Is that understood?” He said and although she heard him, she was too weak to reply. As he placed her into his carriage, she passed out immediately. “Let's move.” He said to the carriage rider who started the carriage again. They rode down the rough pathway and after journeying for an hour, he decided they would make a stop. “Stop at the nearest inn.” He ordered before turning to look at Asmeria. He placed her hand on her forehead and noticed she was burning up but her hands were cold. “If we don't stop and get her some medications, she might not make it throughout the journey.” He said to himself. “And it's getting quite late.” “Yes, your majesty.” The carriage rider said and after a few minutes, the carriage stopped in front of a well lit inn. He lifted her in his arms and carried her out, ordering the inn keeper to send in there doctor to the VIP room he asked them to arrange for him immediately. “Get a room for him too.” He said, gesturing to the carriage rider before he tossed the inn keeper a small pouch of coins. “And make it quick.” ***** Asmeria woke up the following morning to a relaxed body. Although she was still feeling the pain of the rejection on her insides, she felt better than shd was the previous day and she wondered what happened. She turned around in bed to see the handsome stranger who has rescued her from the thief yesterday sleeping peacefully. The blanket was covering his half naked body and… hold on a second. A half naked body? She asked herself before looking around and then at herself under the blankets if she was fully dressed or this man had taken advantage of her. She wasn't dressed in the same set of dress. She was wearing a mucho lighter dress. And whybon earth was she sleeping on the same bed with him. His final words came back to her yesterday as he told her he was going to take her to his kingdom when he was returning. “Is he going to turn me into a slave?” She asked as she remembered that and hurriedly swung her feet down the bed. She knew she could trust him. What if he had done something to her. He was the one telling her yesterday that they both slept together. What if he actually meant that's what he was going to do. She rushed over to her neatly folded clothes and compared it to the one she was wearing. It would be easier for her to run if she wore these new clothes. She gathered the other clothes and as quick as she could, she snuck out of the inn and ran as fast as her feet could take her. She felt bad for escaping, at least he helped her with her health but she didn't know his name or anything about him. “But those eyes.” She said, her voice in a small whisper as she remembered his mysterious ebony dark eyes. She wondered why they looked so striking and quite compelling at the same time. “I really want to know more about him.” She whispered to herself again but she still didn't look back. **** The sun was high and scorching as someone was seen in the midst of the row of golden wheat. The tender stalks of the wheats swayed according to the direction of the breeze. Asmeria was tending to the crops with so much tenderness. Her hair was up in a messy bun and her dress all stained, showing she had been toiling the ground for a while. The sleeves of her shirt was rolled up above a long skirt and a blue apron tied to her dressing. It had been weeks since she left Thorian and had an encounter with that stranger. She had been more free And she looked happy as she tended to the crops. Just then a young man carrying a large basket walked by waving at her. “How are you doing Esmera?” He called with a bright smile. “I'm great, thank you very much.” She replied. She bent to pick up the basket she had brought into the farm but she was feeling all tired and weaker than usual these past days and honestly, she has been struggling to keep up with work. She knew if she didn't do all her task, she wouldn't be paid her daily wages. “You can do this, Asmeria.” She hyped herself as she wiped off the sweat rolling down her face. She carried the basket and just then, she set eyes on some family men. “Holy goodness.” She whispered as she fell to the ground, trying to hide from Thorian's men. “What are they doing here?” She crawled towards their direction maybe to hear what they were conversing about with one of the workers. “Have you seen a young lady named Asmeria?” One of the guards asked and the old woman looked confused. “She is blonde haired and blue eyed. She should be here or you might have seen her passing by.” “There is a lot of blonde haired lady working here, young man. It's like trying to find a lost needle in the sea. But the name of course I can tell you that no one is named Asmeria in this farm.” The old woman said before turning back to her task. Asmeria already knew Thorian would be after her because she stole from him but she didn't expect them to even find her. She had heard lots of stories about Thorian punishing and killing thieves if he caught any of them and that was more reason why she didn't want his guards to catch her. The guards asked a few more workers before they started to search the fields on their own, knowing they couldn't find her that way. Asmeria knew they would find her if she didn't make a run for it but as he was about to turn to run for her life, she ran straight into a guard. “There you are.” He said, grabbing her by her arms tightly. “Let go of me.” She tried to keep her voice down as much as she could. She tried fighting away from his grip but it was pointless because he was on much stronger than she was. “Let go.” She groaned as she kicked him straight between in legs and he screamed out in agony, letting her go. “I found her. She's here.” He managed to scream, getting the attention of the other guards. Asmeria tried to run for her dear life but after trying to run, she was knocked out cold by one of the men. She woke up in a dark room after what felt like an eternity. She tried to move her hands and body but then, she realized she was tied up in a nott so strong rope and with all the strength she could muster, she set herself free from the grip and rushed out of the room. As she ran out of the room, she could feel a sharp pain in her stomach and with every move, it only hurted more and more. As luck would have it, she bumped straight up into one of the men and he looked at her with a smug smile. “And where do you think you're going?” He gripped her hand tightly, making her wince in pain. “Please let me go.” She pleaded with tears rolling down her cheeks. “And why would I do that?” He asked her with a raised brow. “Please, I would do anything. Just let me go.” She pleaded and he looked down at her with a lustful smile. “Anything eh.” She could already get that lustful gaze and yes, the words came out wrong. “You can just pleasure me with your mouth and I will let you go. We will forget this even happened.” He said. “If not, you can kiss your life goodbye.” She knew she couldn't lose go Thorian's men. Yes, she stole the gold but it was also stolen from her so why does she have to serve the punishment? “I'll do it.” She said and a joyful smile appeared on his face. He walked over to the main door of the hut and locked it before walking straight to her. “Just be a good girl and this would be over soon.” He said unzipping his trousers as he walked back to her. The moment he got close to her. She keed him straight in his manhood and he groaned, falling on his face in pain. “Bastard.” She cussed as she rushed out of the hut, runniyad fast as her legs could take her but the pain in her stomach was becoming more and more unbearable. Suddenly, she felt a warm liquid flowing down her thighs. She fell to her knees behind a rock, huffing in unbearable pain. “What's wrong?” She said, checking out the liquid to see blood. “Blood.” She was suddenly alarmed and her voice shook in fear. “This isn't my monthly bleeding.”
