Asannah, Cedric, Asmeria, Thorian, and Vanrad—Thorian's father, sat around a polished table adorned with fine silverware and exquisite china. Food was served and they had already begun eating.
Vanrad broke out in a fit of a cough, Thorian gently pat his back beside him and the cough began to settle down.
He lifted a glass of water to his lips and drank out of it. A faint smile then played on his lips. "I am truly delighted that Thorian would get married to someone from your esteemed family. Your parents, bless their souls, were formidable fighters. I'm confident their indomitable spirit lives on in their children."
His gaze shifted to Asmeria, "I'm glad my son found such a beautiful woman to get married to.
Thorian, acknowledging the sentiment, joined in with a hearty chuckle, "Yes, she very much is." He smiled, grabbing Asmeria's hand from underneath the table
Asannah and Cedric shared a look upon hearing that. Asmeria with their parent's bloodline?
She was adopted. An omega. Yet, Thorian and Vanrad believed she had the alpha bloodline.
Asannah gently nudged Cedric from underneath the table with her foot, "They think she's an alpha princess." she whispered, snickering.
Cedric paid no mind to her, continuing to play around with the meal he had barely touched.
Again, Vanrad coughed and again, Thorian soothed him. After the coughing fit subsided, he spoke, "A day has been set for the wedding," he announced. "I think it's on the uh…"
"Three weekends away." Asmeria continued.
Vanrad's eyes met hers, "Yes, indeed. Three weekends away."
Upon hearing that, Asannah started to cough — an obviously feigned cough.
Thorian's directed a stern gaze at Asannah, "Is there an issue, Asannah?"
Caught off guard, Asannah recovered with a dismissive wave, "Oh, nothing, just a bit of spiciness in the food, that's all." She shot a glare at Asmeria before reaching for her glass of water, and then her eyes met Thorian's briefly.
Wedding in three weeks?
Them believing they were marrying an Alpha's daughter?
All folly lies!
Folly lies that she could, however, use to her own advantage…

Dinner was over and Thorian was in his bedroom, reclined in a plush chair.
His father was in the room with him and Thorian wished that he would just go away, or at least talk about something else other than the marriage.
"Don't you think that the wedding should be moved closer. Swiftly."
Thorian arched an eyebrow, "Why the sudden haste, father? The original date wasn't far off."
Vanrad leaned forward, a grave expression etched on his face. "It's imperative, Thorian. You need to impregnate Asmeria quickly."
The bluntness of his father's words caught Thorian off guard. "Impregnate her? Is that what this is all about, father?"
"No, but it is mostly about it—you need an heir. Our lineage needs to continue."
Thorian ran a hand through his dark hair. "Father, I understand the importance, but can we not discuss this later? Please. I want to rest now.
A moment of silence lingered in the air before Vanrad nodded. "Very well, Thorian. Rest now, my son. We shall revisit this matter when you are ready."
Thorian nodded in gratitude as his father exited the room, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
As Vanrad departed, he saw Asannah on her way to Thorian's room.
What was she going there to do?
Their eyes met and his brows furrowed as he wondered what he was up to.
Well, it was Thorian's in–law and his soon-to-be daughter in law. Nothing could go wrong.
He looked away and continued making his way to his bedroom. Asannah took in a deep breath and looked away, proceeding to make her way to Thorian's bedroom.
Thorian, reclining in his room, was interrupted by a soft knock on his door.
Hua brows furrowed and called out, "Who is it?"
"It's me," A voice replied. It was Asmeria's sister's
Asmeria's sister? What was she doing here? Shouldn't they have left by now?
After a brief pause, Thorian granted her entry. She stepped in, and Thorian studied her with a questioning gaze.
"What brings you here?" Thorian inquired, his tone guarded.
Asannah approached with a feigned expression of concern. "My Lord, there's something I can no longer keep to myself. A lie
And I cannot bear to let it persist."
Thorian's eyebrows furrowed, "What lie?" he prompted, suspicion creeping into his voice.
Asannah took a deep breath before dropping the bombshell. "I won't waste your precious time, my Lord. Asmeria isn't of alpha bloodline, like you and your father believed. She's an adopted omega."
Thorian's silver eyes widened in surprise and a flicker of anger danced in them.
Within, Asmeria was bursting with happiness — that was the exact reaction she wanted to see.
She wanted him to call off the wedding, the engagement, reject the mate bond — whatever it was he could do at that moment that would give her hope that maybe, he and her could be together.
The news hit Thorian like a ton of bricks. He had never expected it; he never knew about this and Asmeria hadn't told him about it.
Granted, he felt hurt and betrayed. But he perfectly understand why she must've hidden it from him — she didn't want to loose him, she feared that telling him the truth would make him not want to be her.
But he didn't care for that, he loved her regardless. Omega, alpha, or whatever, he loved Asmeria for who she was.
"Does it matter?" he finally, a nonchalant tone in his voice. "Bloodlines or not, I've made my choice."
He just wanted a woman who was beautiful and nice, a woman he would feel at home with, a woman who he would shower with love and attention.
And that was Asmeria, he had known it was her from the very moment she stepped into the room.
It was his father that was so hell-bent about him having a partner with an alpha bloodline because he wanted powerful grandchildren to take on the legacy.
But, he…he didn't care for that.
"I don't care about her being an Omega, about bloodlines, or any of that. I love her, and that's what matters to me," he declared.
Asannah's jaw dropped, but she quickly shut it.
No, this was not what she wanted to hear.
Was he actually going to allow this?
It was unheard of, that an alpha—talk less of a powerful Lycan like him—would get married to someone that was not of the alpha bloodline.
What was he doing?
Asannah, grappling for words, finally managed to stammer, "But... my Lord, you don't understand. She lied to you, deceived everyone. How can you just accept her after all this?"
His expression remained resolute, "It doesn't change how I feel about —"
"Oh, but it must change how you feel, son." The door suddenly opened and Vanrad stepped in, his face scowled in anger.
"Father? Were you eavesdropping?" Thorian questioned, stepping closer to Vanrad.
"Well, I saw her coming to your bedroom and I wanted to ignore it, but I found it quite suspicious. I had to come and check out what was going on." Vanrad said and then his attention shifted to Asannah, "Thank the gods that she came and told me the truth, it not you would've gotten married to that lying, omega ing—"
"Father, it doesn't matter if she's an omega or not!" Thorian interrupted, clenching his fists. "I love her father._
Just then, the door opened and the sentence "Honey, I was wondering if I could sleep he—" never got to be completed.
Asmeria paused, her eyes darting about the room as she saw Asannah, a proud smirk on her face, Vanrad's angered scowl and Thorian's annoyance.
Her brows furrowed.
What was happening?
"Uh, I'm sorry for interrupting. I should leave." She deemed fit, and turned around.
"No, stay, darling. You'd definitely want to come clean now." Asannah's sly smirk grew and she crossed her arms, "Care to share with your mate and your would be father–in–law— or should I say ex father–in–law, about your omega status." She chuckled.
Asmeria froze at the spot and her blood ran cold. Her eyes widened in shock as she processed what had just happened.
Asannah outed her!
Here eyes immediately met with Thorian's and she walked to him, "Darling, I—I can explain. I swear, I'm not a liar…I didn't intend to hide it from you. I was going to tell you " she explained as she approached him.
"Reject her, Thorian!" Vanrad yelled and Asmeria paused, swinging around to meet Vanrad's angered gaze.
"W–what?" She breathed, her voice choked with impending tears.
"Reject her and if you so damn much want to get married to this family, then marry her sister instead!"
"What?"
