### Alara
"You are supposed to be dead."
Adrian's voice was barely above a whisper.
But I heard him.
Every word.
I stared at him across the dimly lit room, my fingers still wrapped around the edge of the table.
Dead?
My eyes moved between Adrian and Mara standing behind him.
How am I supposed to be dead!!
Confused thoughts ran through my mind.
A slow smile touched his lips.
"What do you mean by that, Adrian?"
Adrian didn't answer.
His entire body had gone rigid.
I'd never seen him look like that.
Not angry.
Not cold.
Something filled with guilt and fear.
He took a step into towards me.
Adrian's eyes narrowed.
"You shouldn’t worry about it Alara."
Lyra whimpered within me.
"No, Adrian tell me what’s going on"
I frowned.
Mara looked furious.
It was obvious she knew about it too.
The patrol guards came in breaking the uneven silence in the room.
“What is it?”-Adrian asked furiously
“Alpha, there’s been an attack on the eastern gates, two warriors injured “
Adrian's wolf stirred beneath his skin.
I could feel it.
A low growl vibrated from his chest.
"Who?" He asked.
“A white and black fur wolf we disapproved entry.”
“Who might that be?”.—Adrian asked
"We have no idea, alpha"
“Get the pack healer’s assistant to attend to their wounds”
“I’ll deal with our intruder later”
The guard left with Mara’s assistant
And the moment he turned his gaze at me, his expression changed.
The cold Alpha face disappeared.
His gaze dropped to my wrist.
To the silver mark I'd been trying to hide beneath my sleeve.
He went completely still.
"Tell me what I need to know Adrian”
My stomach tightened.
Adrian noticed.
"You don’t need to know anything; it’s best to forget."
My eyes snapped back to Mara.
"You know about this, don’t you?."
Adrian gazed at Mara pretentiously
“Those silver marking you have are found rarely on wolves. It is believed that they are chosen directly by the moon goddess”
Mara said
"What?!”
Adrian's jaw clenched.
"It means that you are not an ordinary omega, you are something else."
“Something stronger than any ordinary wolf, A moon born”
She added
"What does that mean."
Adrian held my arm.
"Alara."
I looked down at his hand.
“You don’t get to call my name without telling me the truth”.
**damnn did I just confront the alpha**
But I don’t regret saying it
He looked at me with no emotion on his face
Just plainly.
“Their major characteristic isn’t strength”
“What is it then?”
“Blood”
I almost bursted out a pale laugh then she said-.
“Moonborns are capable of manipulating and control other wolves”
“They can reject anything without facing any consequence like other wolves”—Adrian added
Immediately.
I rubbed my wrist.
It glowed again but it hurt this time.
“My mother was a moonborn?”
"Alara."
“Answer me!”
“Yes”
“Who did she reject?”
“Adrian’s father”-Mara said
**Alpha Blackwood!**
I had never met him.
“My mother was your father’s mate?”
“Yes"
He stared at me for several seconds.
"You have to leave here."—Mara said anxiously
My stomach sank.
"Why?"
“ They’ll come for you”.
"Who’s coming for me and why?"
“Can I at least get a proper information about myself because it seems life people know more about my life than I do”
I shook my head.
Adrian stepped forward.
"Not here Alara ."
“No”
“I really need to know."
"You need to leave before the people that killed your mother comes."
"For me?"
Adrian's eyes flashed gold.
"Yes."
There was a distant scream that caught our attention.
Marcus, the alpha’s beta came to our room quickly
"Alpha, the wolf is back”
He turned toward the door.
I watched him.
Something about him bothered me.
Not because he looked fierce.
Because he looked nervous.
“Stay here”— he said
“Why??”
“Because I asked you to”
“Until we find out what you really are, you’re still an omega and you follow my rules”
“Stay here!”
There it was.
Back to that identity.
She’s just an omega
But I didn’t give in. I let courage play its part
“No”
“I insist,Alara”
“You can’t leave me here alone”
“ I’m coming with you “
He looked at me with what I call ‘Pity’
He took my hand.
I was behind him.
As we reached the courtyard, everywhere was filled with warriors and weirdly silent.
