Chris walked back to the car with Maya still in his arms. He dropped her down so she could get into the car but she was still clinging unto him like a koala bear on a tree.
"Maya, you have to get off me so you can get into the car," he said.
Maya slowly lifted her face up and the first thing she did was to look around. "Are they...are they gone," she asked as her lips trembled.
"Yes, you're safe now," Chris said and patted her back gently.
Maya finally let go of him and he opened the door so she could get in. She reluctantly got inside the car and sat down.
Chris helped her closed the door and he walked over to the driver's seat and got in, he started the engine and he drove off from the park.
Suddenly, the sky rumbled and it started raining heavily, the sky got darker
