6 YEARS LATER.
United STATES.
PK TECH.
***********
Aria had just stepped out of her jeep with two boys who were identical to each other. Passersby marveled at their cuteness and yet found it challenging to differentiate them.
“Mommy, this building’s fine,” one of the boys, Daavi said excitedly pointing at the grand building up ahead.
“Yeah,” the rather aloof one said, hands in his pockets as he walked forward.
“Don’t run about, don’t leave my sight, you hear me, Daavi, Devin?” Aria warned. “Yes, mummy,” the boys chorused and Aria let out an internal sigh.
She had been surprised to find that she wasn’t pregnant with just one baby back then but two and at first, she had issues identifying them, but soon enough, she could tell them apart.
Of course that was still a Herculean task for strangers, except one guy. Yes, a guy was now in her life - her handsome, gentlemanly boyfriend, Connor Levine. They’d been dating for a year plus now and she felt happy with him.
He really cared about her kids’ welfare. In fact, they grew calling him ‘Daddy’, something he enjoyed very much. Aria felt he was definitely her Mr. Right.
Since she started a relationship with him, she no longer had nightmares of that dreadful night, though it led to the birth of these two angels.
Today, she was here with plans to collaborate hopefully with PK Tech, a renowned tech company home and abroad. If the deal was successful, her company would soar to new heights.
Many companies wanted to get a piece of the pie, she didn’t have much hope but hoped things would work out fine in the end.
As she entered the company, she got greeted by the workers assigned to greet her and she warmly smiled at them in return.
Behind her, she could hear them, especially the ladies praising her sons' cuteness, wishing they had twins too. She had gotten used to comments like these over the years.
Her children had been really adamant this morning, wanting to accompany her by all means and watch her work. She had no choice, but to bring them along. They'd already finished their exams for the term anyway.
She soon met with someone whom she discussed with a little, he was the vice president, Julius Morgan. The latter asked her to wait for a bit as the CEO was busy conducting a Zoom meeting.
“Alright, no problem. Please, be sure to have someone remind him of my presence when he’s concluded with everything,” she politely said and the man nodded before taking his leave.
“Alright, Daavi...” her eyes dilated when she realized her kids were out of sight. Gosh!
They will be the end of her. Didn’t she ask them to stay put by her side? A few seconds of distraction and they’d run off to who knows where?!
This was a big company, where would she even begin the search, which direction should she even face?
She, at the moment, wanted to mess up her hair in frustration and groan, but she still needed to maintain a refined image. The collaboration was important, yes. But her kids' safety was much more vital.
With that, she headed towards her left, frantically calling out her kids' names.

Lyle West was seated in his luxurious chair. He was a muscle-bound, tall man with oxblood hair, piercing red eyes and perfectly tanned skin; his angelic looks would make any woman more than keen to carry his baby.
He, at the moment, was preparing to conclude his online meeting with the employees at another branch when the door to his office suddenly opened and two cute boys ran inside.
“Wah, this office is quite big!” Daavi exclaimed in excitement.
“I agree. But it’s best we go back to mum. She might be looking for us all over the place,” Devin whisper-yelled.
“She’ll end up here eventually. Can’t you see that this is the CEO’s office. Oh look, he’s already staring at us. Quick, act cute!” Daavi encouraged.
“Don’t count me in for that. It’s too strenuous,” Devin outrightly declined.
“Hey, you two,” Lyle, who had noticed the entrance of the twins, called out, successfully drawing their attention.
“Where are your parents?” he questioned, immediately rising from his seat.
“The meeting’s over.” He said to the employees who were still tied to the Zoom meeting from the particular branch.
Then, he focused his attention on the boys once again.
“Hi uncle,” Daavi put on the sunniest smile and ran over to hug his thigh. “You’re so tall and handsome,” he praised.
This brought a smile to Lyle's face and he carried the boy in his left arm. Staring at the kid up close, a realization hit him.
These two children... They looked like the miniature version of him!
Other than them having blonde hair which must have come from their mother's side, they were replicas of him.
“What’s your name?” he asked the children.
“I’m called Daavi, that’s my twin brother Devin,” Daavi cheerfully answered. “I have a mouth, you know,” Devin said with folded arms.
“Uncle, you look similar to us.” Daavi pointed out.
“I can see that,” he placed Daavi on the couch and also helped Devin get on the couch too. Subsequently, he took out his phone, “Daavi, Devin, do you know your mummy’s number?”
“I don’t remember,” Daavi said with embarrassment.
“I do,” Devin responded and proceeded to call out his mom’s number.
Soon, Lyle was able to place a call and an anxious woman answered.
“Hello, ma’am. This is Lyle West. Your kids are here with me. Can you please come over to my office?”
...
Aria, who was on the verge of crying from not finding her kids anywhere, suddenly got a call from an unknown number and she answered it, wondering who it was, and now, she was thankful she did.
This man, the CEO of this big company, had her naughty kids with him in his office.
While it was a relief to know her kids whereabouts, she couldn't help but feel apprehensive in her heart. She sure hoped they didn’t cause him any trouble.
She made her way to the CEO’s office hurriedly, stopping right outside the door to catch her breath and arrange her outfit.
Upon her entry, she noticed her kids talking to the man who was seated on the couch with them. She also realized a shocking fact.
This man... her kids bore great resemblance to him?! Could it be... that night, the stranger was him?
Subconsciously, she covered her open mouth.
“Oh, it’s you,” Lyle said, immediately standing up from the couch. The kids looked guilty and dared not stare at their mom.
“You’re Connor’s girlfriend. You recall, we met at a restaurant back then when he introduced me to you and vice versa,” Lyle said with a tinge of guilt in his tone. He realized without a doubt that this woman before him, his best friend’s girlfriend, was the mother of his hidden twins.
The secretary entered at the moment, a tall, brown-haired man he was and he was quite dashing too, though not compared to his boss who looked like the incarnate of temptation. 'The Face Of America' he was popularly called.
“Secretary Wills, you’re just in time,” Lyle said as his secretary dropped two documents on his desk.
“Yes, sir,” the secretary nodded with a polite smile.
“Please, take these two kids out to play. Their mom and I have some things to discuss. Here’s my card, buy them whatever they want, okay?” Lyle said as he quickly fished out a black card with gold rims from his pocket and handed it to the stunned Mr. Wills.
The latter had realized something but knew better to keep his mouth shut. “Yes, sir!”
Then he went over to the twin boys and stooped to whisper something to them after which they excitedly followed him out.
Of course, they didn’t miss the warning stares of their mom before exiting the door.
Now that it was just two of them alone, Lyle sighed while Aria sat on the couch and crossed her legs, “So you’re the bastard who did it with me that night and disappeared, huh?” she questioned, arms crossed, a scowl on her ravishing face.
“I... Where do I start from?” Lyle pulled a chair to sit opposite her.
“You don’t need to explain. I’m doing fine on my own. And I have Connor in my life now. He raised me from my lows, such a wonderful man, there’s none out there like him,” she defiantly said to him, looking away from Lyle who could only let out a sigh.
“Miss Aria... Look, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to abandon you. I mean, I recalled your face but didn’t know who you were. I don’t even know how I ended up with you that night. And I woke up in a different hotel room, I swear,”
“Your lies don’t even make sense,” she scoffed.
“I’m not lying, Aria. We’re both victims of the circumstances. I only found you last year and you were already with Connor. You seemed really happy with him. I never knew you got pregnant and had my kids,”
“They aren’t yours, Mr Lyle. Don’t ever say that again!” she raged.
