Eva...       "Good Morning Manhattan" Eva shouted with joy as she jumped from the driver's door of her jeep ford. Eva went to the rear end of her vehicle and glanced at an elderly couple across the street walking their little terrier dog. How cute, Eva thought to herself.            "I think I picked a good neighborhood to move to" she spoke to the wind. Eva could hear her foster mother's words ringing in her ears "You have to be careful in a big city like Manhattan, the people are different. It's not like home sweetie. You have to watch yourself and your staff, especially when your out".          Eva made a mental note to unload her stuff in sections and waves. "One can never be too careful nowadays."        Eva made a semi-circle around her jeep unhooking the ties she used to bind the boxes she had placed on the roof. Eva removed all the items from the top of the jeep and carried them up the stairs, making sure she was alert of her surroundings.          Once the first load successfully made it to the entrance she used her new apartment keys to unlock the front door of her brownstone walk-up apartment. Loading everything from the top of the steps into the apartment foyer. Eva stopped in front of the first door on her left. Placing the keys into the lock Eva opened the door and stepped inside "Home Sweet Home", Eva spoke to herself as she took a quick glance inside the master bedroom and powder room. Eva shuffled everything inside before locking her apartment door. The entire ordeal took three consecutive trips to remove the entire contents of her life from her jeep into her new apartment.       Walking through the front door she locked it behind her and tossed her purse and keys on the entrance table. The apartment was spacious and well designed and in Manhattan's Upper West Side she had paid a premium for the apartment itself and the minor renovations that needed to make it more her style. Thankful she had received her inheritance that her birth parents had left her before they passed away. She was about 4 years old when she was entered into the foster care system. Eva had two foster mom's before she met Beverly. Beverly has been her mom, confidant and best friend since the day she was sent to live with her.          Eva grabbed one of the boxes stacked in the entrance of her new apartment labeled miscellaneous and walked down the hallway, which led to the open concept main living space. Having a seat on the cognac leather sofa that sat nicely between two large ferns she had picked out for the apartment, she ripped open the box. Eva removed a set of Manila colored envelopes from the top neatly tied together in a red bow. Speak of the devil, and she shall appear, Eva thought to herself as she undid the bow on the letters she had received on her 18th birthday from her parents and their lawyers.    At the time Eva had been planning on taking a sabbatical year in between attending college so she could raise the proper nest egg to pay for college. Since her student loan application was canceled last minute. After she received the letters she had changed her plans and asked the dean to cancel her request to withdraw from the Business-Accounting program since she now had the funds to cover her tuition. After college, she took a year off of school to backpack through Asia to figure out who she was and what she wanted out of life.       Before Eva left on her trip she had made her foster mom a promise that when she got back they would sit down and discuss her future. Beth had agreed to support her with any decision she made and has stuck to that promise to this very day.  On her journey, Eva had discovered that she wanted to start making a life for herself. Even if she failed or succeed, if it was something she wanted for just now she could always reassess her life she it come to a point like that. People always go back to school in the forties, why couldn't she, but she had a dream of working as an accountant and moving up the corporate ladder since she was a little girl.      Eva had loved coming to Manhattan as a kid with her foster mom, Beth. They found an apartment and she bought it. After some winter renovation and picking out the furnishings for the apartment. Eva made a trip back to Beth's to stay for begging of the year to spend some time with her. After packing up her life and driving for three days to get her. Eva placed the Manila envelopes on the coffee table and looked around at her new life.     Eva finished unpacking three of the twelve boxes the living room and bathrooms. She thought that this was going to take forever especially since it was now nearly 2 pm. Her stomach began to grumble at the lack of food. Walking towards the fridge Eva opened the refrigerator to find a bottle of red wine and nothing else. Eva retrieved the bottle from the fridge and poured her self a healthy glass. Looking at the take-out menus on her kitchen island Eva decided on Chinese Take-out for lunch and dinner.      Eva grabbed her glass of wine and wandered through the garden in the backyard. Sitting outside Eva patiently waited for her takeout to arrive well enjoying the light afternoon breeze.
