“Could you please help me with that box Maddie” that said while he reaches his hands towards me as I passed him the box at my left, “don’t you think it’s high time to tell me where we’re going?” I said arranging books and Novels in a box. I’ve been asking for days, “why are we moving our stuffs to a wear house at least just tell me where we are moving to” I started to nag my Dad couldn’t be bothered. “Quit nagging and start moving these boxes to the car, it would be better for us to move fast in order to avoid traffic hmm?” My Dad said as he tapped my back twice and he walked out to the front gate. My Dad has been expressive about himself these days for months after my mom disappeared he’s somewhat dejected from reality, he started becoming absent minded, and he’d zone out sometimes, he wouldn’t go to work on some days, he’d rather just stay in a corner in his room or in the parlor, on his chair reading a newspaper or sometimes watch news. Some days he just stares directly at his ceiling for hours, we never knew what was going on in his head and despite all that he tried to be always there for me and made sure that I was always okay and I had everything I needed. He was never really like that before my mom went missing. He was a bright soul and he always had a smile on him. He would joke around with literally anyone, He loved playing with the other Children in our neighborhood some days when me and my Mom were upset he would wear Raggy costumes and put on a show just to Cheer us up and it worked every time. Sometimes I wish I could get my Old Dad back while sometimes I sympathize with him because I don’t really know what it feels like to have your other half missing but I do know what it felt like to have a parent missing. I tend to get angry at him sometimes but I resent him for thinking he is the only one in pain. As I got older I realized I could never feel the void that my Mom had in my Dad’s life and Vice versa, so I learnt to let go of any form of resentment I had towards him because I believed we’d have a stronger bond. As time went by Me and my Dad became even closer and he was literally my best friend, I told him everything and so did he. He became the new commissioner of the Police force in Milan, he chose me to give his Plaque and Certificate and I returned the favor when I graduated from college: choosing him to present me my award and Certificate. “Can you at least tell me the location of our new place, if that’s even the case?” I said while putting my seat belt on. “Why are you so impatient it’s not like I’m selling you off to some dusty old rich business man?” He said with a tiny smirk on his face. I side rolled my eyes as he drove out of the drive way and into the main road.
