Pratap House -
Rajendra Pratap's house was neither very big nor small, a two-storey house with four rooms below and three rooms above adjacent to each other and an empty terrace in front and a dining area in the kitchen below. Pratap Saheb lived in the room downstairs while both Rudrakshi and Kashi lived upstairs.
Kashi used to take her dance classes on the terrace in the evening, Rudrakshi also used to sit on the terrace for many hours at night, studying and looking at the city of Banaras.
Pratap Saheb was sitting on the sofa reading the morning newspaper when he started hearing the tinkling sound of anklets, which belonged to none other than Kashi.
My two granddaughters have come, says Pratap Saheb from the front, keeping the newspaper aside.
Rudrakshi runs to her grandfather and hugs him and says good morning buddy, look what we have brought for you while giving him jalebis.
Very good morning, my fighting lion, Dadaji says while wishing him. Well, I always eat Jalebis. What is special about it? Dadaji asks.
Because my result has come today, the jalebis will taste sweeter to you, says Rudrakshi.
Grandfather says that he is crazy, even if the jalebis will taste sweeter in this.
Because I have topped the whole of Banaras, says Badi Rudrakshi while sitting near him.
You, this means that till today, one day in every year, Grandfather must have found Jalebis sweeter because you have topped every year, Kashi says while touching Grandfather's feet and wishing him good morning.
Good morning and Mahadev, keep both my granddaughters always happy, Grandfather says while blessing them.
Uff Kashi, you also destroyed all my happiness in a single moment, says Rudrakshi.
Grandfather and Kashi laugh seeing Rudrakshi's antics.
I will make tea and bring it, Kashi says while going to the kitchen.
And three cups for me, after all there is no one else, so I am the one to indulge in my happiness, says Rudrakshi.
We know very well that you just have to drink tea made by Kashi 10 times a day, your day is not complete until you drink it 10 times a day, says Dadaji.
Grandfather, do you know how it feels if the alarm doesn't ring even once in the morning, if the lights are cut off at night, if you don't get food for a day? Similarly, Rudrakshi's morning is incomplete without Kashi tea, Rudrakshi says loudly while climbing on the sofa.
Damn Nautanki Baz says while giving your three cups of tea to Kashi Rudrakshi somewhere else.
Here, grandfather, take your tea. Kashi gives tea to grandfather.
And we hear the sound of a boy coming in through the tea door.
Here comes the magnet, Rudrakshi says softly and tries to hide her tray of tea cups in her lap because she now knew that one of her cups is going to be sacrificed.
Princess doesn't say it like that, Grandfather says it softly.
Have we said something wrong? Rudrakshi asks Dadaji, narrowing her eyes.
Dada ji says not at all but Kashi stares at him I mean he is our guest so don't call him like that. Dada ji says softly in Rudrakshi's ear but behind her back.
And both of them start laughing.
Seeing them, Kashi just shakes her head no because she knew that both of them were not going to stop.
Can I come inside? The boy comes inside and says, whose name was Naveen.
Now how long will he come inside and sit on my lap, Rudrakshi says softly.
Kashi silences Rudrakshi by showing her eyes.
Yes, you sit there, Kashi says pointing towards the single sofa next to Dadaji.
Although Naveen has no enmity with Rudrakshi, he just likes Rudrakshi but Rudrakshi does not give him any feelings. And Grandfather and Rudrakshi know this very well, that is why they always try to explain it to Kashi. But Naveen like a strong magnet always comes to Rudrakshi's house to meet her, so Grandfather and Rudrakshi call him Chumbak. But Kashi did not like this because Naveen was his good friend. Naveen was not bad in appearance, his bulging belly and Rudrakshi did not like him sitting idle at home instead of working in his father's clothes shop.
She did not want a boy like Naveen to be her boyfriend.
By the way, Rudrakshiji, you are right, there is no morning without tea from the hands of Kashi, Naveen says.
Call us Rudrakshi instead of Rudrakshiji because we are not used to such respect and anyway we know that my Kashi makes the best tea in the world.
Rudrakshi you give a cup of tea to Naveenji Kashi says to Rudrakshi.
Not at all, says Rudrakshi.
Princess, it's a matter of one cup, give it to me, Grandpa says.
We said, buddy, we will not give our tea to anyone, says Rudrakshi.
Before Rudrakshi Kashi could say anything to him, Naveen said nothing in between, Kashi, we know Rudrakshi ji I mean, how much Rudrakshi likes the tea made by your hands.
Forgive us Naveenji, we will prepare another tea for you, says Kashi.
Wait Kashi, Rudrakshi says while giving one cup to Naveen, today I will manage with two cups.
Wow Princess, you have given your tea to Naveen, says grandfather softly.
"I don't want Kashi to have to make tea again because of this magnet," Rudrakshi says softly to Grandfather.
By the way Magnet, I mean Naveen, you had no work here this morning because you give all your time to your soft bed, says Rudrakshi.
Kashi stares at Rudrakshi.
I mean, you are a poor simple person who has nothing to do with what is happening outside, says Rudrakshi.
Yes, I have some work from Kashi, says Naveen.
Saying, “Did I really think that you will have work with me like always?” Rudrakshi quickly starts drinking her tea because she knows that Kashi was staring at her.
Naveen Dadaji asks what business do you have with Kashi daughter.
Dadaji, after the puja on the day of Mahashivratri, we have organized a program in our locality in which I have become Mahadev, hence I have to learn Tandav from Kashi.
In the next episode-
As soon as these words reached Rudrakshi's ears, all the tea from her mouth fell on Naveen sitting on the sofa in front of her.
I am sorry Naveen, I apologize to you but you have talked like this, Rudrakshi says to Naveen.
No problem Rudrakshi ji, it must have happened to you by mistake, Naveen says.
