My Dearest Miracle

My Dearest Miracle Arianna, The moment Arianna read the words, her heart clenched. It was no doubt written by her father. If the handwriting did not give it out, the first four words did. There was no one in this world who called her that. It was the endearment that her father used. These words made her giddy when she was just a wee kid. The words that indirectly said how proud he was of her. It was the reason she pushed herself to her limits so that her father would praise her with those words again. The words that were the reason for her eyes brimming with tears. The words she would never hear again. Being so careful that the tears wouldn’t spill on the fragile paper, she read on. First of all, I would like to tell you how proud we are of you. Daddy and Mommy are so proud of you, baby-girl. You are the sweetest, purest and kindest soul that was ever created. Maybe we are being biased. But as far as we know it is the truth. I still remember the day that you were placed in my arms. I honestly had no idea what to do with the little being in my arms. You were so small and fragile and I was very sure that I was going to break you. But then you opened your eyes and looked at me with your blue eyes and gave me a toothless yawn. And in that moment I knew I was done for. In that moment I knew I would move heaven and Earth for the little princess. You might be wondering where this is getting. I am sorry, my princess, for I am going to break your heart into million little pieces. Arianna, my heart, you are not our biological child. We are sorry, my dear, to inform you in such a manner. But if this is how you are finding it, it means that we are no longer alive to give you the information in person. We are not Stephen and Indiana Sinclaire, to be honest. We are Ruben and Jean Richards of Riverton, Wyoming. Your mother and I were married for nearly five years, but couldn’t have children. One day a couple of gentlemen came to our doorsteps and put you in our arms. They said that you were a very special child and must be protected by all means. They made us leave town and told us to assign fake identities. The only thing we know about you is you are Arianna, daughter of Erik. We don’t know anything else about you. Please remember, my angel, that you will always be my little girl. Sorry, our little girl. (PS: Your mother is hitting me) It's time you find yourself, my sweetest miracle Arianna. Love, Daddy and Mommy. PS: Now you understand why you are my Miracle. By the time she finished reading the letter, her long-held tears were flowing down cheeks. Careful as to not damage the paper, she placed it back in the wooden box it resided in earlier. Arianna was so confused. Her mind was working overtime buzzing with questions that can’t be answered. At least by her. With an addled mind that was driving her mental, she crept up the stairs to her bedroom like a zombie. She curled into herself on the bed and let all the pent-up tears out. Her body trembled with every sob that left her mouth. Her fingers dug into her pillow as her sobs started again. She didn’t know why she was crying. All she knew was that letter invoked something in her heart and she has to let it out. Soon her tired eyes lulled her to sleep. That evening Arianna decided to do what her father said in the letter. She was going to find herself. And for that, she has to step out of her comfort zone and travel. So a trip to Riverton, Wyoming was in order. She quickly packed all her things, from books to shoes, toiletries to clothes, photos to momentoes. Every single thing was packed and secured at the rear of her car. She checked the rooms in her home and said a silent goodbye. The only thing left was to bid goodbye to Mrs Parker. And she was not looking forward to that moment. Emmeline and Syrene were having one of their arguments of the century about how to get Her out of town when the doorbell rang. Emmeline was all about kidnapping her while Syrene wanted to tell her the truth and get her out of town.Emmeline and Syrene looked at each other and sighed deeply. Now what? being the question in their minds. With a huff, Emmeline went to the door to open it when the bell rang for the second time. Emmeline groaned as she opened the door. She, however, was pleasantly surprised by the nervous figure standing in her portico. "Arianna!" Emmeline exclaimed with a smile, "Come in, dear." She stepped aside to let the dark-haired girl into her house.Arianna gave her a nervous smile, which was unlike her, Emmeline was immediate to note. But she chose to be silent and let the girl get comfortable in her living room. Syrene strutted to the living room and leaned against the wall, with all her bruised glory. But Arianna seemed to be getting lost in her own world. Emmeline frowned as she shared a look with her niece. She snapped her fingers in front of Arianna to get her back from her dreamy land.Emmeline chuckled as she asked, "What is the matter? Why are you getting lost in your own world? Any boys I should go scare?" Emmeline fired questions as she wiggled her eyebrows.Arianna rolled her eyes at Emmeline and said, "I have far more important things to do than dream about boys, Mrs Parker.""More important things than boys, she says!" Emmeline deadpanned dramatically. "But seriously, what is the matter, dear?"Arianna frowned and the crease between her brows deepened. With a sigh, she explained about the letter that she received and the truth that was revealed through it.Emmeline panicked. She shared a helpless look with her niece. But Arianna wasn't done. She further informed her that she was going on a trip to find her biological parents. And that she came to say goodbye.Emmeline's eyes filled with unshed tears. She reached forward and embraced the young woman. With a motherly kiss on her forehead, she said, "I don't want you to travel alone, dear"Arianna gave her a watery smile and said, "It's alright, Mrs Parker. I promise I'll be careful."Emmeline frowned in contemplation and turned to her niece. But her words were addressed to Arianna, "Perhaps my niece could accompany you."Emmeline could practically hear her niece's internal growl. But she ignored it and focused on Arianna. Before she could say something, Emmeline continued, "It could help her. Like not getting into a brawl with men in the bar."Emmeline threw a pointed look at her niece. But to Arianna, it would look like she was disappointed with her niece. That seemed to do it. Arianna gave a timid 'Alright'Oh Arianna! You don't know what you are getting yourself into.
