“Yes sir, twenty-four hours is too long. I will update you as soon as possible.” The man supposed to be the security chief replied, speaking like a retired cop. Alpha Eric ended the call with a deep breath, turning to me, he gave me a kiss on the forehead which got me giggling. He tucked the phone back into his pockets.
“The man in the call speaks like a retired cop, was he one of them?”
“Yes,” Eric said curtly.
“No wonder.”
“As I was saying, the girl confessed that she wants you too and challenged my relationship with you, how I could get you to come defend me and sack a professor that was quite popular.”
“Who's she?” Eric asked with curiosity. We were inside the elevator now and the door was slowly closing in on us. He dropped me to the floor.
