Daisy in Hand

Chapter 2

It was Saturday morning. The weather was warm a bit sunny and cloudy. A perfect weather for gardening. I was at the porch of the house watering grandma's daisies and taking off every weed that caught my eye, when out of nowhere i felt Elena's hands covering my face. I'm used to her hands around my face whenever she comforts, covers my eyes, pinching the hell out of my nose and even more her smell.

"Guess who" she said with a laughter.

"Elena the cow" i said with a chuckle.

She then grabbed my ear rolling them making me scream out her name. I usually refer her to the cow because she is a bit chubby. She hates it and never liked to be called chubby. But she just has the chubby features. Not my fault.

"No no. Elena love stop. Ouch. Elena hail queen" i said while laughing as she stopped and gave me a hug from behind.

Elena has been my friend ever since i moved in with my grandparents. We grew up together, went the same school, hanged out each and every second we missed each other's side. She is my best friend.

Nothing has ever separated us. Maybe because life hasn't started using its course of work making our fate apart but i always believe that wherever she will be, i will be there. As long as our hearts are united.

"Whats the hug for. ?" I asked as i continued ploughing the weeds out.

"I missed you, haven't seen you for two days. "

"Yeah. The weather has been mean to us lately" i said as i sat on the porch next to her.

"Scoff stopped texting me, i call and he doesn't answer. Thirty texts in a row and there is no reply"

"Ow. I don't know what to say"

I really don't know what to say. I never liked scoff. She knows. She never treated her right well apart from the time they started dating.But she just loves him too much to let him go.

He has been cheating on her with other girls, and she always let go. I think she just needs a waker. Something that will open her eyes and ears that Scoff ain't good for her.

"I guess being single is my lucky charm" i told her.

She wiped a tear. And i knew that very soon she was about to break down. I hugged her as she rest her head on my shoulder and started crying.

"It will be okay. I think Josh is more nice and cute than Scoff. The guy is head over hills for you. Why do you still go for the jerk?" I said comforting her.

"I don't know Tessa. I just don't know "

Scoff and Elena had been dating for a year. I don't recall any good moments than the first three months in their relationship. He used to be caring, sensitive and possessive when out of nowhere he totally changed.

In the other hand Josh has been into Elena for years, even before Scoff asked Elena out.

"He used to be good, do you have any idea what made him change?" I asked as Elena withdrew from my embrace and wiped her tears.

"Lets not talk about it" she said as she forced a smile. "Met any guys when I wasn't around" she asked.

"Yeah, some cute guy of Georgette"

She gasped and i laughed from her response gesture. Well yeah thinking about it. Jack is cute. Even through the dark his smile, and those dimples never stood a chance without my eyes on them.

"I'm kidding, i met this guy called Jack" i said blushing and she finally lit up.

"Where, how, did he ask you out?"

"Calm down Elena. I don't want to end up with a person like Scoff"

"Hey. Not fair. I get to be the example?"

"No, not you. Its scoff. The example"

I laughed as she laughed too.

"Hey, if i have a rough love life, doesn't mean you'll get one" Elena said touching my hands.

"No baby, if you have a rough love life, get your feet out of it" i said.

"What about this jack guy?"she asked

"Well we just met at the store house and he insisted on walking me home" i told her.

"Ow. I think your luck of being single is beginning to fade away" she said with a laughter and i just had to watch the dead eye to her..............,,

It was afternoon when me and Elena decided to head to the market for some groceries. We had our baskets on hand laughing about every single joke we thought of.

She wore a lilac gown while i was in a peach dress. We walked to all the sections and found some edible fresh mushrooms that were very rare at a time like this.

Just then i felt a weight on me. It was Elena. She was shifting all her weight on me like for some reason she couldn't trust her legs for support.

Right there before us stood Scoff with another girl, one i identified as Juli. The cheap girl in Georgette that wants every man to herself. She was holding hold of Scoff's arm.

They had no idea that we stood there observing them all along.

"Babe, I'm craving for something salty" juli said glancing at scoff in a romantic way

"Salty, out of taste juli. You need something spicy. Maybe a kiss"

Seriously. People are really dumb or am i the dumb one. Since when is a kiss spicy. I contained my laugh for later, literally my best friend needed me at the moment so i just had that face I didn't recognize myself.

Elena held me even more tight trying her best to calm her anger out.

"You slut-" Elena said making Juli and Scoff startled, trying to head towards them for a fight i think but i held her even tighter. She didn't deserve this.

"Oooh Elena. Its good i saw you. Best timing. Meet Juli my new girl. Juli meet Elena my ex"

I felt sick. I felt worse. How could she do this to a girl like Elena. He knew that Elena was head over hills for him. He knew that whatever he did Elena would always have her arms welcoming him back. A tear dropped for my friend. For the love i had for Elena and for the way i observed how she always fought for what they had. I felt disgusted. I wiped the tear away holding tightly on Elena.

"Ooh hi Elena.-" juli giggled to Scoff as making fun of Elena. She knew Elena and Scoff had a thing, and that they never really broke up.

Blood rushed all over me. I felt the need to slap her face so bad and even more to punch that jerk's face so hard. But i just had to remember the importance of calmness. Then out of nowhere a laugh from Elena

"So she is your new hole, the one you can't let go just because she knows how to suck your friend's balls. You really are yearning for a new experience aren't you?"

I was amazed. Elena was surely talking impressive s**t. She was always reserved, about what she spits. And that same moment i was proud of her. She didn't cry nor break down like all those times she caught Scoff red handed.

"You b***h- "

Heat was definitely radiating from juli. My sixth sense could feel that.

"Well have a good life fellow b***h. You deserve him" Elena ended and I'm sure i saw smoke through juli's ears.

Elena walked away and i followed her behind. Holding her back for comfort when we were out of their sight. And thats when i saw a tear roll down.

"You are so very strong baby" i told her as she held my hand firmly, nodding and holding back from breaking down.

Thats when we figured out its better we call it off for today and just head home when my arm was strongly grabbed by a masculine hand.

My eyes came across a familiar face and smile.

"Jack-" my head became blank. Bad timing.

"Hi " i said removing the grip of his hand.

Then out of nowhere a feminine sound came across. She looked familiar. Her style was different and it didn't seem like she has being staying here in Georgette. She was out of breath like running catching up to someone.

"Babe, what were you running to"

Then her eyes caught the distance we shared and she had that jealousy face. She then grabbed jack's hand by force and that took j******f guard.

I felt disappointed at first in my life just because of a guy i barely knew.

It seemed Jack got his senses back. Although with the close proximity he didn't step back.

"Who is she?" The girl asked.

"Thats what i want to know, her name!"

Elena coughed to that. And thats when i knew i still had my best friend with me.

Am in a point in my life where i am far most disgusted by men and love. How could he want to know my name? What for? We only met yesterday. And even worst he had to say that in front of his girlfriend. I would never want to turn out like Juli who her satisfaction lies on showing interest and wanting guys that aren't hers. And even more i can feel the pain of been betrayed and used. And i would never want to be the cause of that. Maybe i might be overthinking due to the circumstances in hand. More than ever i wish i never met him. I took my Elena's hand and left without saying a word.
