Chapter 3 “Welcome!” A man’s voice boomed from the center of the ring. “Welcome to the night we have all been waiting for!” He raised his arms, and the crowd roared. The red mist masked the man’s face, but there was something in the way the tendrils curled that made Maggie quite sure he was smiling. The man dropped his arms, and the crowd fell silent. “My fellows, we chanced the fall into the Siren’s Realm for the promise of a land of plenty, wonder, and endless joy. Has the Siren provided?” The man held out his hand. A tiny light flashed on his palm before taking off toward the top of the massive tent. As the light soared, it tore into two-dozen pieces, each slice growing brighter as it neared the canvas. Inches before the lights would have struck the tent, they exploded, showering
