Taking a couple bites of fruit, I pushed the plate away from me. My tears finally falling, “how could he do this?” I yelled out with anger.  Oliver took my hands into his, rubbing the tops of them. “I think my mother started this, I’m sorry, Ry.” Oliver said in a whisper. My eyes widen when he said that, “it’s not your fault,” I threw my arms around his neck, “thank you for being honest with me” I stated. He nodded and took me by the waist, “Rylie, I’ve always meant it when I said I’d protect you, letting you know the reality of things is unfortunately the best way to keep you from danger.. I can only move so slowly now that they’ve done this, they did it on purpose before the contract is over.. on terms they made it out alive.” He said with sorrow in his tone. I took a deep breath and nodded, trying to stomach all of this new information. He took on a private investigation that his father started when they sent him abroad. I needed to know the rest of what happened to lead to the murder of my mother and his father.. “I’m ready, please.” Slipped my lips in barley a whisper. “Rylie..” I heard bo call from the corner, I jumped from his voice, forgetting he was in the room. I looked over to him, “hm?” I called. “You’ve already heard a lot of new information, please don’t overwhelm yourself..” he said hesitantly, my stomach knotting over as he spoke. He knew. Bo knew my whole life. I felt my eyes flash warm with tears.  “Why was I the deal in the contract?” I seethed through my teeth, angry at my parents for selling me before ever wanting me. I couldn’t be mad at Oliver, he was three! His parents signed a life deal without him being able to want it! He didn’t have a choice, but always chose me and never fought the choice. I stood up as both of them fell silent and did not answer my question. I let out a huff and stormed out of the dining hall. Walking towards the back garden, I looked up at the clear blue sky, letting my tears fall. Laying down on the grass by the lake, I drifted into a sleep, letting the sun kiss my skin. ~ Jolting awake after rolling over into something. Someone. I rubbed my eye, breathing heavily. My eyes meeting Oliver, he let out a light chuckle as he pulled me back down into his arms. “You looked so peaceful, and cute” he said so lovingly, kissing my forehead. Snuggling into him, I felt over come with guilt from getting angry and storming off, “I’m sorry for storming out..” I said softly. His arms tightening around me, “I get it, Rylie. They had no right, but I understand. You will to. I’m thankful that it was you of anyone they could’ve chosen though.” The words flowing from his lips into my heart, thick as honey, warming me up.  I closed my eye, breathing in his masculine scent. “Will you come with me?” Oliver said almost unsure of himself, I instantly nodded as if I was waiting my whole life to hear him ask. “We will start packing tonight and leave at sunrise. I can’t chance anything happening to you.” I felt his jaw tighten as he finished talking, my heart dropping as I knew that my father and his mother had other plans than for the contract to be fulfilled. I nodded my head, relaxing myself into Oliver trying to enjoy my last few hours in the garden I grew up in.
