CHAPTER 8 Rex stilled at her words. He couldn’t believe they were going to the same place. First the kiss and now the same destination? How was that even possible? He hadn’t dated in a while, so the kiss, however accidental, had been a shock. It was like everything else had faded except for the two of them in that moment, and he’d felt a longing for more. Her scent—the smell of summer, of coconuts and beaches and sea salt, with hints of vanilla—had warmed him in its embrace, and all he’d wanted to do was remain there with her.
