CHAPTER 16
Rex turned to see Max enter the kitchen. “Good morning,” he said. His brother looked great as usual in his business suit.
“Morning,” Max replied with a grin. “Glad you made it here early.”
“I thought you’d left for work,” Becca said.
“I did leave, dear, but then I saw an unknown SUV parked outside in Rex’s favorite spot, and I assumed he’d arrived. I came back since I know he can’t stay away from the horses, which means he needs to comply with this new requirement we have on the ranch. I’m sure we can handle it quickly, and then I’ll be off again. Tara, Rex, could you please follow me?”
