CHAPTER 17 Tara followed Rex into the horse barn and down the cobblestone aisle. She’d been surprised when Max had asked her to administer the shot, and it’d been interesting to see how much Rex hated needles, but he’d ended up taking it like a champ. Now she wondered how her experience here would be with the roles reversed. The place was much larger and more modern than she’d expected, with rows upon rows of horse stalls made of wood and metal, most of which appeared occupied. There was a hay loft on the second level packed high with hay bales. But the barn was much cleaner than she’d expected.
