CHAPTER 22
Tara opened a bleary eye at the sound of her phone’s ringtone and took in the beautiful pale blue and pink room that was hers for the duration of her stay at the ranch. She’d gotten up early in the morning while it was still dark to help Rex with the horses—and then returned to bed—as had become her habit since the first day they’d gone to the stable together, though they mostly worked in silence.
But it was like they’d come to a truce and were now comfortable around each other. Tara had become more familiar with the horses and even learned their names, but she hadn’t worked up the courage to ask Rex to teach her how to ride them. But she hoped to one of these days. Still, she was enjoying her vacation so far.
