CHAPTER 23 Rex grinned even as Tara’s face turned bright red. He couldn’t believe what he’d just heard. Tara was admiring his legs? He studied the body parts in question. True, they looked great. But she had to be mortified that she’d actually voiced the sentiment. Yet he liked this Tara—all awkward and embarrassed. She was cute. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean… Oh, whatever!” She threw up her hands in defeat. Rex laughed—he couldn’t help it. “This is so awful,” she said, covering her face with her hands. “It’s okay,” Rex said with a bemused smile. “No, it’s not.” “Thanks for the honest compliment.” He chuckled. “Really, it’s fine.” “Yet you’re still laughing.” “Well, I just wasn’t expecting it. Thanks for making my day.” She removed her hands from her face and squared her shoulders.
