Chapter 10

POV Olivia – September 16

I wake up with a burning pain on both sides of my neck. After opening my eyes, I look around and need a few seconds to realise where I am. But then, the memories of last night hit me. It was amazing, painful, but amazing. The boys did keep their promise to be as gentle as they could. The worst part was the marking. Those bites hurt like a b***h! I’m so deep in thoughts I don’t hear the bedroom door opening and the twins walking into the room. “Liv?” Liam calls out to me. My head whips in his direction so fast black spots appear in my sight. “Are you alright?” I hear Lucas’s voice on the other side of me. “Yeah, I think so” The worried look on their faces makes me giggle. “Don’t worry. My neck just really burns.” “Hmmm” Lucas hums while burying his face in my neck. He starts licking his mark and the pain is replaced by the feeling of pleasure. I let out a soft groan, which makes the twins chuckle. “Feels good?” Lucas asks, pulling his head back. “Yes, how did you do that?” He looks me in the eyes “it’s being your mate” A hopeful look appears on my face “can you do whatever you did again to the other side?” “No!” I hear a growl coming from my left side. I turn my head towards Liam “that’ll be my job” he says before also licking his mark. After a couple of seconds, he stops with a groan “let’s go eat some breakfast before we’ll repeat what we did last night.” My face turns bright red and I swallow “yes, you’re right. Let’s do that.” The boys look at me with lust-filled eyes “I mean the breakfast. Not that other thing, you deviants.”

After the breakfast the twins brought up, I take a quick shower and get dressed. Walking out of the bathroom, I find them both sitting on the bed looking me straight in the eyes. “Are you ready to go downstairs? Mom says she needs you”. I hear Lucas’ voice. But it sounds weird, almost like he’s talking in my mind. “Yes, what does she need me for?” I ask him. “So it works?” I hear his voice again. “Why does your voice sound like it’s in my mind?” Liam stands up from the bed and walks over to me. “Because his voice is inside your mind. He was mind linking you. Apparently, the link works!” he wraps his arms around me, pulling me against his chest. “So that’s the thing secret talk thing”, I ask him. “Yes, it is! Try to link us back. Just imagine you’re talking to us.” Liam answers in my mind.

I try and focus, picturing myself talking to them both “Is this what I’m supposed to do?” I feel Liam press a kiss on the top of my head at the same time. Lucas yells excitedly “Yes sweetheart, that’s called mind linking. I pull myself back from Liam’s arms and walk towards his brother, dropping myself in his lap. “So now I’ll be able to communicate with the two of you through our minds? And we don’t have to be in the same room to do that, right?” Lucas nods “we could be on the other side of the pack territory, and you’d still be able to reach us!” I think about his answer “even if I’m at school?” Liam sits down next to us “yes even when you’re at school. It might take you some practice though. Because of the distance, but eventually you’ll manage.” “You will also be able to feel our emotions as well as we would feel yours through the mate bond.” Lucas whispers in my ear. I find myself being confused about this last thing. “But I haven’t marked the two of you, remember? My teeth don’t become canines?”

“And didn’t we tell you magic would do the job for you after we marked you?” the twins say in chorus while pulling the neckline of their shirts to the side so I can see the marks on their necks.
